Re: LTE 2.0
Good way to start the week. Good coffee, great dog and Bud.
Re: LTE 2.0
Ahhh, spring break. I do have some work to do, mostly getting the lecture ready for next week when I get back. Next week's topic is pirates, though, so it'll feel even less like work than it usually does.
Off to on Thursday.

At one point last night, I was flipping through channels. I actually missed even the slightest glimpse of the Oscars as they were at a commercial break.Very Duke Blue wrote:You mean, I'm not the only one?TillyGalore wrote:What awards??Very Duke Blue wrote:Not watching the awards.

I didn't watch any either. I was glad to hear, though, that Avatar didn't win best picture. Though I enjoyed it and found it to be a worthy achievement, I did not in any way believe it worthy of that honor.TillyGalore wrote:At one point last night, I was flipping through channels. I'm also pleased that Up won Best Animated Feature. I've made no secret of the ways that film affected me, and I thought that category was very strong from top to bottom (had Coraline won, for example, I could have totally dealt with that...I thought it was likewise brilliant).

UP won for best score too, which was cool..I liked the piano. For those that missed the Oscars..the dance routine for the best score category was lots of fun.wilson wrote:I didn't watch any either. I'll be sure and find it. A good movie score is a thing of beauty, indeed. And I totally agree with you on Up's score.CameronBornAndBred wrote:UP won for best score too, which was cool..I liked the piano. I did like the leadup to the best actor and actress awards. They brought on colleagues who talked about each nominee. Tim Robbins bit about Morgan Freeman was funny, but it didn't top Tucci's intro of Meryl Streep.
Sandra Bullock did well in terms of the best dressed.
Glad that Hurt Locker's director had two wins over her ex, James Cameron.

Orlando for Drill Team Nationals!YmoBeThere wrote:Where'd ya go?
No, sadly I'm not on the team. My sister is though, along with a few of my best female friends! My friend and I had the pleasure of driving (after they screwed up our train tickets) to Orlando with them, riding rollercoasters for three days at Universal and Islands of Adventure, and watching the best looking dance teams in the nation dance! Oh, almost forgot to mention the hours of hot tubbing with the team
