Conspiracy Theories

Conspiracy theories exist with almost any and all major events that happen in history. Where do you stand? For the most part, I believe conspiracy theorists are nut cases, however, I am not so close-minded as to believe everything the government tells us. I believe elements to some conspiracy theories.

For instance, it would not surprise me one bit to find that Roosevelt knew the Japanese were going to attack us. I'm not saying he just let it happen. I'm not even saying there is a conspiracy at all. It just wouldn't surprise me. Roosevelt ran on partly the promise that we would not get involved in another world war. Finding our "participation" inevitable, he needed a reason. A damn good reason. There were SO many warning signs that got ignored. But the damning thing to me is, all of our aircraft carriers were thousands of miles from Pearl that Sunday morning. Why? Certainly not the norm.

Again, if I had to lay money on it, I'd bet on the official story. I'm not a conspiracy guy, but I DO have questions. Same with the moon landing (we had all the motives to fake a landing with the cold war and such); JFK assassination, and even parts of 9/11. As a person who is an amateur but knowlegable student of aviation, and who has hours of flying under his belt (still far short of getting pilot's certificate), it still befuddles me how such novice pilots could be so good and accurate with huge commercial airliners. That said, again, I do believe the "official" story. I just have questions.

What about you? Honestly and sincerely, what conspiracy theories, if any, do you believe to be the most convincing???

I'm not a huge conspiracy theorist. The only ones that I tend to lend any credence to are the ones that involve the fewest people. I could never buy the moon landing hoax conspiracies because of the sheer number of people involved in NASA and all their contracting companies. It would just never be kept secret. Something like the assassination of JFK.... I could totally buy a conspiracy there, because so few people would need to be involved.

I believe the government was covering something up, just not sure what.
Aliens? Weather balloons? Who knows, but I am sure the government was covering something up.

I used to work with the White House physician when JFK was in office. He said the Warren Commission got it right, as did Teddy Kennedy.

I'm not a big believer in conspiracy theories as there are just too many people needed to pull things off, or keep things quiet.

They actually made a replica of entire scene/picture and I think they proved that this was done in a studio due to requirement for multiple light sources, however, near the end of the show, they made some topographical adjustments and demonstrated that the studio setup could look like the picture.

They proved that the conspiracy theorists' claim that the direction of the shadows in the photo could only be accomplished using multiple light sources simply wasn't true and that the topography of the moon affected the shadows. So they debunked the claim that conspiracy theorists most often rely on as 'proof'. They also thoroughly debunked the conspiracy theorists' claims regarding the photo of the astronaut taken on the moon.

They didn't say the moon landing wasn't faked but they did demonstrate that the 'proof' used to support or prove conspiracy theories about the moon landing was no proof at all.

I wish you would have narrated when I watched. Your explanation makes perfect sense! I was only paying 1/2 attention and it sounded like they proved it in the start and then retracted it in the end, but when they said busted, I got confused. Thanks for clarifying! I still believed we did it!

For those that don't know..model making is what those guys did (and do) for a living. %90 percent of that crowd's last job before the TV show was working on Star Wars. What a kick ass job.
