Miller played great in the U.S net and basically stole the game for the Yanks. That being said, Brodeur played poorly and, to some extent, cost us the game. They shoulda pulled him during the game and there is no way he should be given another start in these Olympics. Heck, he shouldn't even be the back-up the way he is playing. Time to start Luongo and put Fleury on the bench as the back-up.
Fuck me, I am so sick of the way Canadian teams are picked lately and how they make some decisions for our team. We need to make some big changes in our program because, on paper, nobody should be able to touch us.

I think the loss is good for Canada's gold medal hopes (and would've been good for the U.S. as well). Yes, the bye is nice, especially in light of the effort and energy both teams expended in last night's game. But, Canada now gets another game to play together as a team. That's a good thing, IMO. It's worth noting that each of the last two gold medal winning teams (Sweden and Canada) took losses in the preliminary round. That certainly doesn't say that the extra game helped them, but it does suggest that having the bye to the quarters isn't necessary.
Canada still has the most talented team in the tournament. And the U.S. still has the 3rd or 4th most talented team. The difference last night was that the U.S. got better play in the net, and, as we've discussed previously in this thread, that can carry a team.
. Since this tournament started it has boiled down to Canada vs. the US for gold and everyone else playing for the bronze. Seriously, in future they should just have a seven game series between Canada and the US for gold and let everyone else have a normal tournament for the bronze.
