I've heard that Paul Blart: Mall Cop is pretty funny. It comes out next week on DVD.

Ironically, that movie was on one of my flights this past weekend, and I chose not to watch it. It was late/early I needed some shut eye or would have been a complete witch.bjornolf wrote:I've heard that Paul Blart: Mall Cop is pretty funny. It comes out next week on DVD.

Re: Roll on the floor laugh my a$$ off movie suggestions
I laughed quite a bit watching the Shrek movies, though I'm embarrassed to admit that. I also laughed pretty hard at Golden Child, Coming to America, Ghostbusters, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I chuckled a few times during the first Harold & Kumar movie, though Neil Patrick Harris was the best part of that. My son thought Monsters v. Aliens was a riot (I couldn't go). His favorite part was when the blob said "I think the jello gave me a fake phone number." The Princess Bride is pretty darn funny, but I'm not sure it falls into the LMAO category. It's more of a cerebral funny. Eddie Murphy's Delirious and Raw and Bill Cosby's Himself all made me laugh 'til I was ready to fall over, as do the movie versions of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour and Ron White's Tater Salad (can't beat "I wasn't drunk in public. I was drunk in a bar. The bouncer PUT me in public." Just isn't the same without his inflections). That's about all I got right now. I found those looking through my DVD collection. The Man Who Knew Too Little has parts that are just stupid funny, kinda like The Mask and Dumb and Dumber and Dude Where's My Car or Bill and Ted or Ace Ventura. Birdcage gets me every time in the funny bone. In fact, of all those, I probably laugh the hardest at Birdcage (other than the standup comedian ones. I laugh a lot at those).

Old School, Best in Show, This is Spinal Tap, On Demand at my house and way better than I expected, so much so that I have decided there is no longer any question in the matter, Paul Rudd is a genius - Role Models, Superbad "McLovin, why???!!!!!"

Any PIXAR movie. I'm DYING to see UP. The official site has the trailer, we saw it before Star Trek, it was almost worth seeing the movie just for that trailer.

Yeah, I have to admit, there were definitely parts of the Toy Story movies, as well as the Incredibles, and Wall-E, that had me laughing pretty hard. Rhino in Bolt is HYSTERICAL, though I know that's not Pixar.

"Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" is the funniest movie ever made, with "Coming to America" a pretty close second. You should watch one of these two.

My favorite lines from PTA are when they are driving against traffic.wilson wrote:"Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" is the funniest movie ever made, with "Coming to America" a pretty close second. You should watch one of these two.

The Great Outdoors with John Candy and Dan Akroyd was a pretty damn funny movie, too. "If I can get a dessert in him, will you throw in shirts for the kids?"
And, of course, Uncle Buck had me rolling on the floor. "Take this quarter, go downtown, and find a rat to gnaw that thing off your face!"
Oh, I miss Mr. Candy.

My favorite lines from PTA comprise seriously about 60% of the film.CameronBornAndBred wrote: My favorite lines from PTA are when they are driving against traffic.

-"I want a fucking car, right. fucking. now."
-"Let me close this conversation by saying that you are one unique individual."
-"Unique...what's that, Latin for 'asshole'?"
...and so on.
Seriously, Tilly, you should watch "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles".

Just the facts, Jack!
... but we are willing to learn.
Again, a movie with a great part by John Candy.

Of course my vote has to go to any Python flick or spin-off, such as Yellowbeard, Time Bandits, etc.

Time Bandits is great, but I wouldn't call it a laughyerassoff comedy. It's a pretty dark movie.captmojo wrote:Of course my vote has to go to any Python flick or spin-off, such as Yellowbeard, Time Bandits, etc.

Re: Roll on the floor laugh my a$$ off movie suggestions
I was always a "Holy Grail" man myself.
I also liked the old History of the World movie by Mel Brooks. That always cracked me up.
And I don't know why, but something about the Waterboy always makes me laugh.
Oh, and there was a movie with Sandler and Steve Martin called Mixed Nuts from several years ago that I can't help laughing at.
Speaking of Steve Martin, has anybody seen L.A. Story? Not really LMAO, but very funny in its weird look at life in LA. It's funny because even though it's hyperbole, so much of it is so accurate at the same time.
