Zebras in Atlanta

Post by EarlJam » February 18th, 2010, 5:18 pm

There was a zebra running loose in downtown Atlanta. I kid thee not. Is it April 1st?

Talk about surreal, from the article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

"All of a sudden a freaking zebra comes running down the street like a car. Five or six police cars were in hot pursuit. And a bunch of officers on foot. But then I got scared, thinking … what else is loose?" said a laughing Nance.

I think he's safe now, but people driving around and seeing it must have thought they had been slipped some acid.

There was also a stretch last year when there were animals running around loose on Atlanta highways; as I recall, there were llamas, and emu, and a pig, in separate incidents, all within a couple weeks or so. Zebra's the best yet, though. You just never know what you'll see on Atlanta's roads!

ETA: My bad, not emus, but another zebra, and it was two years ago. Llamas. Zebra. Pig (Don't tase me, bro).
