All I can think of is SPROCKETS. :ymdevil: :ymdevil:
That is the worst song in the history of song writing. Also, in the pairs skating, USA's Mark Ladwig look like he woke up, couldn't find his outfit, so he grabbed the shirt and pants he flew in on and glued sequiens to it.

I missed the Opening Ceremonies(damn tax returns), so thank you for the commentary. I guess I won't go looking for a rebroadcast of it. The parade of nations is always the best part - I like to check out the costumes and hear about the flag bearers.

The Simpsons' version of the opening ceremony in Vancouver was HILARIOUS.

Canada's best music producer, Ray Parker Jr, had control of the opening ceremonies:

Who ya gonna call? ALBANIA
Who ya gonna call? ALGERIA
.
.
.
Who ya gonna call? ZIMBABWE

Priceless parody, including Costas and Brokaw.

It was movie director Ivan Reitman who directed Ghostbusters.

Thanks for the correction. I was doubled over laughing while watching it.

I don't remember the blue lines painted on the snow before. Is this a first for them?

ILJ & I said exactly the same thing. I think it REALLY helps coverage.
I also enjoyed the superimposed graphic where they show in real time two skiiers going down the hill. You can really spot where skiiers gain or lose races.

Vancouver ceremony folks: just DON'T sing, alright? Forget it. Nelly Furtado, Brian/Bryan Adams. Joni Mitchell's BOTH SIDES NOW? I don't know. I'm thinking the 30yr rule applies, but ILJ liked it. Sara Maclachlan (sp?). Sorry. Ho-down Quebecois? No way. Just stop it already. I half expect Loverboy to start singing. I'm looking for my red headband.

Artistry, set designs, costuming, dancing, lighting... GREAT!!
Donald Sutherland narration... nice.
I generally agree. But I still think they should have invited Rush.

Rush would've been awesome! Same with Shania Twain.

The rest of it is just getting embarrassing now. Leave it to us to fuck this up...
I was surprised no Celine Dion!!!

We saw on Inside Edition that she turned it down several times, as she thought she would be pregnant.

Yep, I think CathyCA said the same thing to me last night. She was too skinny!

Her husband is 67 years old. If they had a child this year, he would be 73 by the time the child entered kindergarten. 85 when the kid graduates high school.

That is just creepy.

CURLING ACTION on right now. The US men's squad is kind of getting pounded by Germany right now. They have another match vs. medal contender Norway tonight...not looking great.
