Duke-Maryland

Bilas is picking us to lose:
http://espn.go.com/ncb/notebook/_/page/ ... /feb-12-19
Normally, I don't go in for the conspiracy theory-style whining about how he tries too hard to appear impartial, but fucking come on. I will be very surprised if we lose to the twerps at home. Coming off of the big W at carolina, I think Cameron will be rocking, and though I don't expect it to be easy (certainly not as easy as last year :)) ), I believe we'll tough out another 10ish-point win.

Let's don't underestimate Maryland. They're a tough team and been a bit overlooked much of the season.

Look, I know that Maryland is a good team, with a very good coach, having a good season. I know that they hate us about as much as do the heels (though the fact that this hatred is unrequited is always funny to me). I know that Greivis Vasquez is one of the best players in the conference.
But tomorrow is Coach K's 1000th game at Duke, with over 100 program alumni having RSVP'd to say they're coming. And on top of that, it's K's 63rd birthday. We're not losing.

I tend to agree here. One constant that has defined Duke basketball over the years is the ability to shut down the opponent's top player. Yes, Greivis is good. No wait. He's GREAT. I personally think he's the best PG in the ACC by far. But shut him down, and you shut down the Twerps. If we were at Maryland, I would agree with Bilas. But at home, I give Duke the nod. Could we lose? Absolutely. But I'm betting on Duke in this one. Blue Devils by seven.

Question?

Post by Karl Beem » February 13th, 2010, 1:59 pm

What percentage of DBR posters might be trolls? After this wondeful half, someone, in his 1st post, started bitching about Lance not finishing a shot. This in a game when our bigs had their best half of the season. If they're not trolls, DBR has degenerated to where you can't tell the difference.

That's funny and sad...I'm just thrilled to see him in the game, it's even better he started.

Zoubek was simply phenomenal. He was a force on defense, he scored, he rebounded.

Brian Zoubek got up this morning and thought, "I am going to personally make sure Gary Williams has a shitty day." Love you, man! :x

I don't know if they ever showed it on tv, but the guy in front of the grad student section by the bench who holds up the whiteboard with cheers, jeers, etc. had a great one today. It said: Fear the Zoubek!
