New Painting

I'm about done with it. I wish I was done with it yesterday, it would be in the show I'm entering this weekend. I'm ok with it though..in 2 days I hope to knock your socks off. I'm close enough to being done that my toes are wiggling.

Since I'm going to the unc game, I'm gonna take a ton of photos with future paintings in mind. To warm up and get in the right frame of mind, I've done this one from a photo of Nolan I took during the Pfeiffer game.

Looks like Nolan is growling, or worse. Was he in the picture you took? And does he have a receding hairline? Constructively critical here, but the face just doesn't look right to me. The rest of the painting is great!

Hehe..he was the only subject of the photo...I intentionally left the face vague. While it was Nolan in the photo, it is not intended as a portrait of him.

On second glance, the face in your mock-up could totally be Johnny Dawkins.

Now you're making me want to try a sports action painting, CB&B. Maybe I should try doing one of the women. I'm so slow, though, that whoever I tried would be graduated and gone by the time I was done. I really envy your ability to attack and polish off a painting seemingly in a heartbeat! That must be lots of fun!
