What sauce do you like to have with your pasta?

I love white sauces...the problem is nobody else in my house does. Every now and then I don't care about them and cook something for me to keep in the fridge; white sauces go great with chicken dishes.

It's impossible to select only one sauce. The choice may be situational..... for example, a great red for many purposes, generally healthier than a white sauce. White sauces magnificent with seafood and pasta. Vodka sauce is a fabulous choice as well. The only one I wouldn't select is cheese sauce for pasta unless it's macaroni.

I generally prefer red sauces, though I go for all sorts of things in it, from sausage to mushrooms to garlic & herbs. I don't really care for white sauces. Pesto is delicious.
I made a good marsala sauce the other night.

I like red sauce with ground beer and or meatballs. I make it with a lot of onions and garlic. I also like white sauce made with white wine when we have clams. Also, pesto is great. Especially in the summer when I can use basil from my garden.

I have the latter two issues. The cardiologist on the board would probably say I can't take three Zocors (I guess I lost the genetic lottery on cholesterol). I would also probably need some sleep medication, as ice cream, most desserts, and most rich food trigger my sleep issues. And I wouldn't be surprised if they contributed to my migraines as well. On the other hand, my wife loves alfredos, ice cream, and most rich foods/desserts.

I wound up siding with pesto. Then again, my wife loathes garlic.

What a marriage!
