Duke-Wake Foulfest

Post by devildeac » January 17th, 2010, 11:51 pm

My word, that game was almost brutal. Never knew quite what the refs were gonna call but usually it would be a touch foul on us (except for Andre's mugging of Mc fartland near the end :D ) and felonious assault on them (but not always). I gotta take a couple advil and have some ice packs after that game. Well, plus a nightcap, but that's another thread ;) :D . :blee: :dizzy: b-(

Singler hurt his wrist on that last fall, he's probably getting x-rays tonight. He asked Mason after what it felt like when he broke his wrist.
Team medical officials were examining the wrist after the game, and Singler was unavailable for comment.

"I guess we'll just wait and see what the results are," Mason Plumlee said. "You don't need me to tell you how important he is."

And once again, what does it take for these truly shitty acc refs to call the flagrant/intentional foul and throw one of hewitt's/gaudio's/greenturd's goons out of the game or suspend them for a foul like that.

Ugh. :( I could tell he was in a lot of pain but trying hard not to show it. Fingers crossed it's not broken.

I never did understand why the foul on Mason was an intentional and the one on Kyle wasn't intentional or flagrant. It looked just as bad to me. Fingers crossed that Kyle doesn't have a broken wrist.

"Maybe when kids are up in the air we should just let them go, then," Gaudio said.
Just try telling that to the mom of a kid with a broken back! Just when I was starting to admire Gaudio. sheesh!

Hmmmm. Maybe he was meaning to say that when the SHOOTER is in the air, he should be let go. I was assuming he was making a case for a mid-air mugging, b less his heart. (Never mind. :-\ )

Did y'all see the picture on the front page of DBR? For those of you who haven't, there's a student holding up a whiteboard with a message reading, "Dear Refs, Please read the "foul" section of your handbook at halftime. Thanks, Cameron Crazies." =)) =)) =)) =)) =)) =)) =))

The message on the board was changed from time to time during the game, keeping the message "fresh" and entertaining.
