Da HAWKS!!!!

Post by EarlJam » January 15th, 2010, 10:50 pm

I know most here don't care, but the Hawks just made an amazing basket at the finish to win the game. They were down by three and four for most of the last minute. A long (nearly desperation) three after a Suns free throw miss falls through................HAWKS WIN!

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehah! It's Basketball Season!

I went to a Hawks-Clippers game once. I wanted to scratch my eyes out with a toothpick, I was so bored.

I too went to a Hawks game years ago here in Atlanta and was not only bored out of my skull, but very embarrassed as company was in town and I told them we could go to a HAWKS GAME! The halftime show was by far the most entertaining part of the night. During the game, the place was dead and the echo of the ball bouncing on the court clearly dominated the airwaves.

Things have changed here to some degree though. The last two games I've been to have been quite exciting.

I wish NBA teams would have bands for home games instead of piped in music. I think that would be fun.

Speaking of basketball, tomorrow, for the first time ever, I'm going to a game shirtless and plan to shave and paint my torso two-toned for the colors of the home team (red and white). I'm also going to paint my face two tone and scream and yell my butt off!!! Of course, to get up the courage to do this I'll need a six-pack of beer or so before the game.

I'm excited because I've never seen my eight-year-old nephew play, and he really likes his team-mates and the sport in general.

I actually watched the second half of this game cause it was on when I turned on the TV and Grant Hill - you remember him, don't you? - was having a great game. 17 pts in the first half and quickly had 20 in the second. Don't know what he finished with, but obviously 2 too few.

It was a fine, fine game winning shot indeed.

The Hawks have a drumline. Like the Falcons, they are one of the few (if not the only) teams in their league to have one. Drumlines are very Atlanta, and I love what they add to both teams' atmosphere.

Given how much they are losing of late, maybe the Holes need a drumline too. :ymdevil: :ymdevil:
