First cookbook illustration

Post by CameronBornAndBred » December 29th, 2009, 11:43 pm

I'm not going to share them all..but I've had fun with this one and it's been a while since I've gotten back in the painting groove. This is the first one I've done for the Duke tailgating cookbook...it's 2 folks from Omega Psi Phi, our brunchgating neighbors, and the pig they shared during the Wake game.

Speaking of the cookbook, were recipes for desserts welcome? I had meant to ask this earlier as I have a couple I could contribute but I can't remember if it was only supposed to be for starters & main course type foods. What were the criteria again?

Any recipe is welcome and the only criteria is that it can't be an already published recipe.

WOW! Chris, you are so talented! Thanks for giving us a sneak peek!

That pig was de-luscious! I can't wait until next fall!

Chris - excellent painting! That Pig was wonderful along with all the other treats and camaraderie of that day! :-bd :-bd :-bd

Regarding the non-published version of a recipe, I hope that doesn't include any of the ones that already exist in the Recipe thread, there are some good ones in there. :-?

No problem, none of mine are published as they are old family recipes (one or two might, maybe, have been published in Britain 50-60 years ago but I doubt this will be an issue).

I'll type them out (been meaning to do that anyway) and will post them over the next couple of days.

Chris, how many recipes do we have so far? Will you be able to include them all or will you need to edit some out? And are we lacking in any category? Can't wait to see what else you illustrate for us. You've taken on a pretty big task. Is there anything any of us can do to help out?

TNTdevil let me know that he has a billion personal recipes, so we are good to go (still please share if you want). Right now I'm focused on gathering game day stories. These stories can be from inside WW or out in the parking lot.

Should new recipes be posted here or in the recipe thread?

Neither. They should be sent to cookbook@crazietalk.net. Same with stories.
