Some guy who looks like ALL of the ZZ top band, is playing Jimmy Hendricks "Heart breaker" and is doing a damn fine job! I wasn't a big Jimmy fan, but ... classic rock!

Wow, looks like the storm has stalled and consumed all of PA, but hitting the southern tip of NY about an hour ago. As long as it gets there before noon!!! I should have went into weather forecasting.... one of the only jobs you can consistently screw up and not worry about losing your job! ;)

Arrived at LaGuardia at 430 and waited 15 minutes for a gate. 60 minute cab ride to the hotel and promptly proceeded to lose my phone. Walked around for about an hour and bought tix to see West Side Story at the Palace Theatre. A friend of dukediv2012's from Raleigh is Riff in the show. Got great orchestra seats about 90 minutes before the show started. Dinner was a slice of pizza at Famiglia (Ymm, Pizza). Dessert was M&Ms from the M&M store. Bedtime beverage was 1/2 an Anchor Our Christmas Ale. Shopping for a new phone in a few minutes and then taking in the sights. See y'all at MSG at 330PM or so.

Re: The Great NYC Duke Adventure of 2009!
A buffet breakfast at the hotel (not bad), lots of walking and window shopping, lunch with Ozzie (2 slices of pretty good pizza and a drink for $5 + tax-who says things are expensive in NYC  ), more walking and window shopping and a defensive gem by the Good Guys at MSG. Yes, the cheerleaders were fabulous ;) . A 15 block walk in the snow, more window shopping and dinner at Ruby Foo's with Kung Pao Chicken, Pad Thai, Dim Sum, a little sushi and some edamame. More walking in the snow. It is coming down now almost sideways, just like the rain at the coast .
About a foot expected by the AM. A fun and tiring day. Good to see VDB and Bud. The band was stuck in a corner but were quite good. Our section started a loud but brief "see ya" cheer and a "more than double" cheer. I did get a bit of a chuckle with a "fix the rim" shout when Jon missed a FT and another chuckle when I yelled "miss it, Dimitri." No one even tried to eject me . Shared a Breck Christmas Ale with my son and I am exhausted. So is Mrs. DD as she has dozed off.

It was a great game! I think I heard you squealing!!! Sounds like you all had a great time. Is the snow going to be a problem getting out of there tomorrow? The secondary roads have yet to be plowed here and I don't think the main highways are very good either. Be safe in the return home travels!devildeac wrote:A buffet breakfast at the hotel (not bad), lots of walking and window shopping, lunch with Ozzie (2 slices of pretty good pizza and a drink for $5 + tax-who says things are expensive in NYC  ), more walking and window shopping and a defensive gem by the Good Guys at MSG. Three days, 20 hours of driving, over 1000 miles of I-95, a great basketball game and great camaraderie, and I'm home safe and sound!
