"Good news is that I truly out did myself this year with my Christmas decorations. The bad news is that I had to take him down after 2 days." I had more people come screaming up to my house than ever.Great stories. But two things made me take it down.
First, the cops advised me that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by.
Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the 75 pound ladder almost killed herself putting it against my house and didn't realize it was A dummy until she climbed to the top (she was not happy). By the way, she was one of many people who attempted to do that.
My yard couldn't take it either. I have more than a few tire tracks where people literally drove up my yard."
Aw, thanks for the vote of confidence Cathy, but no. I keep saying the next sweater is going to be for me but 98% of everything I have ever knit has been for somebody else. That one sweater that I keep because it was the first one I knit? I never wear it.CathyCA wrote:BD, did you knit your own sweater? I suspect you did since the colors are authentic, and since you are so incredibly talented.
We didn't put up our tree this year for two reasons...Jesus_hurley wrote: We have a fake tree. Too bad the cat didn't realize that.
We gots 3 cats but this is the only one who climbs the tree. One of the others is too fat (pushing 20 pounds) and the other is too prissy to be seen doing something like that.CameronBornAndBred wrote:We didn't put up our tree this year for two reasons...Jesus_hurley wrote: We have a fake tree. 1. We won't be in town anyways.
2. The cat. The cat is still on the kitten side, and loves to climb everything and anything.
;I love it! I remember (should have known by the way I reacted) about 20+ years ago after getting two kittens and then setting up a tree in my bachelor pad, coming home and turning the corner in my condo at the top of the steps to only see the christmas tree toppled over on the couch with the broken ornaments, etc. (that my X had spent a ton of time, then decorating) and I knew she was going to kill those cats! My first reaction was OH, SHIT!!!! (flashback from me getting into trouble and my Dad coming home and beating my arse) and my X being my Dad and I needed to protect those poor lovely kitties!!!!!!Jesus_hurley wrote:

Flyin' lessons, when taught at young enough age, will usually put a damper on these hijinks.Jesus_hurley wrote:CameronBornAndBred wrote: 2. The cat. The cat is still on the kitten side, and loves to climb everything and anything.
And when he's not in the tree he can be found in the dish drainer, the bathroom sink, the kid's toyboxes, under the easy chair or under my feet. As I am walking up or down the steps....
