Yes, I know, repeating myself, but I'm curious.

I chose Paul. I saw him in concert at Carter-Finley Stadium about 19 years ago. GREAT show.

Ringo! He married a Bond girl, whose brother I used to work with.

I voted for George. He seemed like a genuinely good guy - the type you'd want to have a beer or two with while talking about life and such.

I voted for George too. Yes, I put my husband in there as a joke, but he really does look like he could be George Harrison's son. I found his old passport recently, the one from college. OMG, the photo looks like a still from A Hard Day's Night.

There should be a 'none of them' option for those of us who loath the Beatles.

George was great. I wish they had let him put more of his own songs on the records. His solo stuff was terrific, too. Sad news day when he died.

I don't loathe the Beatles, but I don't like them well enough to have a favorite.Rolvix wrote:I'm pretty sure that's illegal here in the U.S.colchar wrote:There should be a 'none of them' option for those of us who loath the Beatles.

Somebody once told me you're either an Elvis person or a Beatles person. You can like both, but you're only a "person" for one. If I had to pick, I'd be an Elvis person, as would my wife and most of her family.

Re: Who is/was your favorite Beatle?
Apparently the 60s music of John, Paul, Ringo and George is making a resurrgence (sp) in Japan now. They've put together a cover band that plays all the tunes. The band features Asian rock icons Chan Wee, Izuku Don, Iki Fujita, and Hiri Namo. They are currently touring the islands and are selling out everywhere they play.
They are, yes, (pause for effect)......
THE JAPANESE BEATLES.
[insert uproarious laughter]

George Martin (since I'm assuming the "George" in the choice isn't him) is the fifth Beatle ahead of Preston. They wouldn't have ever had their sound if it weren't for Sir George. (He was knighted, Harrison wasn't)Lavabe wrote:No option for Billy Preston?

Re: Who is/was your favorite Beatle?
The original poster forgot to mention perhaps the most influential Beatle of them all. The REAL fifth Beatle, Clarence Walker....(from Wikipedia)....
Eddie Murphy starred in a 1983 Saturday Night Live sketch, playing the role of Clarence Walker, a man who claimed to be the fifth Beatle, as saxophonist, who was kicked out by John and Paul because they wanted to steal the glory. The sketch featured Clarence's "proof" of his claims: Some out-of-tune saxophone and backing vocal parts clumsily overdubbed on a few Beatles songs, and an obviously phony picture of Clarence standing in the middle of the four Beatles. When the clearly unbelieving TV show host (portrayed by Joe Piscopo) demands further proof of his claims, Clarence offers up a recording of a Beatles song played 'backwards', which reveals two Liverpudlian accented males declaring 'Hey Paul, let's get rid of Clarence and steal all of his good ideas!' [8]
It seems efforts have been made to remove any videos of this sketch from the Internet. I cannot find one. If someone else can, it would be hilarious to see!

Re: Who is/was your favorite Beatle?
I am both an Elvis and a Beatles fan! Depending on the mood, I could like one better than the other, but when I hear the beatles, it's like eating chocolate, it is a great pick-ME UP!!! I think I am going with Paul also, he's always been a favorite!

Re: Who is/was your favorite Beatle?
I picked Paul, but only because I think he was a monster bass-player. Whenever I hear the Beatles, I hear him the most. Fantastic rock/blues bass player.
He is also the Beatle I want to punch in the neck the most.
