November Rain, what a great song!DevilAlumna wrote:Dang, so that's where all our November rain has gone -- you guys are getting it all in 48 hours what we normally get in a month! What's better is it's been dry here, but snowing in the mountains - 2 of 4 of the ski areas have already opened for the season!!

Re: LTE 2.0
Somebody mentioned Heigl not having the qualities of a great rom-com actress, so I ask you, who are the best rom-com actresses currently? Here are the women I can think of that have made them in the last decade or so:
Meg Ryan (I guess she hasn't made one in a while, but she's one of the queens of the genre)
Julia Roberts (same here)
Katherine Heigl
Jenna Elfman (God help me, but I liked "Keeping the Faith")
Helen Hunt
Drew Barrymore
Sandra Bullock
Emma Thompson
Nicole Kidman
Marisa Tomei (maybe?)
Jennifer Garner
Michelle Monaghan
Sarah Jessica Parker
Zoey Deschanel
Renee Zelwegger
Diane Keaton
Amanda Peet (maybe?)
Kate Hudson
Claire Danes
Julianne Moore
Kirsten Dunst
Heather Locklear
Mandy Moore
Scarlett Johannson
Rachel Weisz
Ellen Page
Kate Winslet
Hillary Duff
Lindsay Lohan
Anyone think of any others?

Shoot, I thought of her, then forgot to type it in. I also forgot Anne Hathaway. She's been in a few lately too.Bostondevil wrote:Amy ADams

MM is great eye candy. I was disappointed in Sahara because MM doesn't really fit the Dirk Pitt image - at least not what I have in my mind. I actually picture Dirk Pitt more like the author's picture on the jacket.DevilAlumna wrote:I knew you were going to mention Cruise. ;) But he's FAR too short. And has he ever been in a RomCom? (I think we determined that Jerry Maguire didn't count.)Bostondevil wrote:He's 5'10"! He towers over Tom Cruise.DevilAlumna wrote: quote="Bostondevil"
He can do both! (See Harrison Ford, Tom Hanks, Mel Gibson) Plus, you've got Matt Damon for action movies. He's never done a Rom-com (and why not, I ask you, why not?) /quote
Too short.
And AD, I'll admit I haven't seen How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Perhaps I'll give it a try. I like Matthew McConaghey, his Wooderson was classic, but he's no Hugh Grant when it comes to romantic comedies. I'd rather see him in a buddy picture.
And I was actually thinking of Fool's Gold, but How to Lose was a better movie - start there, even tho he's not shirtless as much (if at all) in that one. He's also tan and sandy and shirtless in Sahara.
Life is good!

Given the state of the FB game at half, one would think a little more posting here was in order.
