A word to the wise: if you're going to miss work frequently, you might want to keep track of your asinine excuses and not recycle them. Someone might be paying attention.

The lines at the DMV can be really, really, REALLY long.ArkieDukie wrote:A word to the wise: if you're going to miss work frequently, you might want to keep track of your asinine excuses and not recycle them. Someone might be paying attention.

Not at the place where this person goes. Besides, the last time she used this excuse it was the end of October (on her birthday, I later learned) and she needed the tags by the end of the month. I've started to notice that the stories for missing work are not exactly lining up any more. Frequency is increasing to the extent that she can't keep all the excuses straight. She misses at least a half day per week. I called her on a conflicting story once and got some stutters and stammers. Now I just sit back and laugh to myself. The boss isn't nearly as stupid as she likes to think he is.TillyGalore wrote:The lines at the DMV can be really, really, REALLY long.ArkieDukie wrote:A word to the wise: if you're going to miss work frequently, you might want to keep track of your asinine excuses and not recycle them. Excuses can get to be funny but also very old.ArkieDukie wrote:A word to the wise: if you're going to miss work frequently, you might want to keep track of your asinine excuses and not recycle them. Someone might be paying attention.

I got my license renewed today. Including the time it took to pass the sign/vision test, I was out of there 10 minutes after I showed up. Now I don't have to go back for another 8 years.TillyGalore wrote:The lines at the DMV can be really, really, REALLY long.

Re: LTE 2.0
Ugh, I loathe co-workers like that. One of our sister teams had a manager who would make lame excuses frequently, but would publicly tweet about her weekend and nightly escapades. Um, we work for an online product, EVERYONE is on Twitter/FB as part of our jobs. She left about a week after her own direct report ratted her out to senior management. She then had the audacity to blog about how hard it had been on her, being a manager, not being "free to be creative," blahdy blah. Good riddance.ArkieDukie wrote:Not at the place where this person goes. If you are going to be an idiot, best to keep it on the DL. But often the idiots don't know they are being such.

I miss the Muppet Show.
Home today. Holiday for Veterans Day. Awful rainy day. I'm just gonna sit on the couch and drink coffee all day.

I'm jealous! Wish I could be home during this monsoon. I'd drink coffee, read a book, and take a nap with a cat or two or three.DukeUsul wrote:I miss the Muppet Show.

Re: LTE 2.0
So does that mean every topic averages a little over 40 posts? That's pretty good! (Although this thread skews that number quite a bit...) If you removed the LTE 2.0, each thread should average about 26 posts...Rolvix wrote:Hooray!devildeac wrote:Now at 1000 topics. ;)
