I recently volunteered to be an alumni admissions interviewer for Duke. I conducted my first two interviews of HS seniors today. I had a hell of a time. It was a lot of fun.

I stopped doing that Usul, when I just couldn't take the rejection anymore. (None of my interviewees ever seemed to get in.)

I should post this in the talent thread. But I'm not.

Damn, I make a good apple pie.

I'm eating a piece right now. Please excuse my ego but as Dizzy Dean said, "It ain't bragging if you can back it up."

Thanks for the viewpoint. I'm fairly certain that one of the young ladies I interviewed will not get in. The other is a very strong candidate and was a joy to talk to - we talked for an hour and a half at a Starbucks and could have kept going, had I not had to leave to pick up a birthday present and get home to MrsUsul. I really do hope she gets in.

I'm watching the World Series right now.

I had dinner with the home plate umpire's mom earlier this evening.

I just saw where the LTE 1.0 has pulled within 300+ posts of 2.0. Some shameful posting over there. ;)

I think one frenzy of going postal here should bury the 1.0. Of course, a little mod action over yonder would also do it in.
