But I will admit that Roger Clemens pitched a 3-hitter for his 20th win of that season.

Sigh. I answered Shamm's questions on Facebook today. I said I didn't hate anybody. I should change that, cause I kinda hate Roger Clemens, now.

This is too easy an opportunity to rail against two MLB teams, so I will decline the chance.

Any connection between Roger Clemens and figure skating? :D

The thing about Clemens is, he didn't use steroids when he was on the Sox. Or if he did, it wasn't regularly, yet. The GM of the Sox at the time felt he was just about done. Turns out Duquette was correct. You look at the last two seasons Clemens spent in Boston and it's hard to figure he was on the juice then. If he was, then he completely mailed in two seasons. Either way, he's a player it's easy to dislike.

Umm, it's not even October yet, but most of the houses in my neighborhood have Halloween decorations (with lights) up. 8-x (~~)

There should be a law. :twocents:

You should plan to visit all those homes on Halloween with a couple empty 6ers and, after you knock/ring, instead of the standard trick or treat, blurt out "hops or malt" or "porter or stout" and see how many contributions you get. ;) :D

OK, here's what I meant. He spent the last 2 years out of shape and mailing it in but he had a couple of games there, right at the end, where we saw flashes of the old Clemens, so, even though I don't think he was on the juice until he left the Sox, he might have started in the last month or so before he left. Or he might have waited until the off season to get the program going. All I know is he was a different pitcher the next season with the Toronto Blue Jays. Everybody chalked it up to motivation at the time.

We usually are out on our front porch (it is Florida after all) and we have the candy bowl for the kids and a couple of coolers for adults.

Yes, they trick or treat for beer ('trick' I guess would be a Bud Light =)) )

I'm sure I will see Christmas trees in stores in the next week or so. K-mart and Roses usually are the earliest to put them up, and always before Halloween.

Hey, awesome, thanks man. Anytime, just let me know. I can swing by your place, too, if you just let me know when. And where. ;)

Her birthday went fine. I made pork tenderloin and gravy, her favorite, with fried squash, another favorite, and garlic mashed potatoes, and garlic bread, followed by the from scratch German Chocolate Cake. She enjoyed it, I think. Saturday evening, the in laws watched the kids while we did a little shopping in Old Town Alexandria, followed by dinner at Ruth's Chris up in Arlington. Oh, and I gave her a couple dozen roses. I think she had a good weekend for her birthday.
