You're worried about silly?TillyGalore wrote:I get it, I just think it's kind of silly. Especially if you're going to merge anything with the LTE.CameronBornAndBred wrote:HA! I love the re-opening time.devildeac wrote:Just a brief explanation. Nothing was done wrong. Everything was done well and I just want to lock it for a couple hours for folks to catch up/ketchup/catchup on the last several hours of the frenzy if they'd like to do that. Congrats to all who participated and then co-operated so Ymo could have the honor. Y'all are fabulous.
I believe I'll re-open it, let's say, about (9)909 PM tonight. ;)
After what we just did?

Re: I can't believe you locked the LTE
1. I didn't create any of the other threads. Y'all did that to "subvert" the locking. I have no problem with that.wilson wrote:I strongly agree with this.TillyGalore wrote:And, creating a baby thread or any other thread then merging the threads is just as over the top.
But I like locking it for a bit (less than another hour and a half) to take a breather and admire our efforts.
2. The merging, if I can figger out that task, would be stuff posted in the LTE anyway, so they should blend well.

I merged the two lock threads. Requires less keys. ;)

Re: I can't believe you locked the LTE
What the hell did I miss today? Anyone want to summarize what happened over in the LTE so that I don't have to read through it all?
And, for the record, I also think locking it was a bad idea.

Re: I can't believe you locked the LTE
Yesterday afternoon, CellR noted that today was 9/9/09, and somehow we managed to turn that into a challenge to reach 9909 posts in LTE 2.0 before the end of the day. A little less than 29 hours and a little more than 1700 posts later, we've done it. Consensus was to lock the thread until 9:09 and let our keyboards cool off, but there's been some dissent.colchar wrote:What the hell did I miss today? The short version? We average almost one post a minute to get to 9909. It took Wilson 65 posts just to say good he was leaving (really leaving...going for sur this time)colchar wrote:What the hell did I miss today? We also found a solution to healthcare in the US, formulated an exit strategy for Iraq and Afghanistan, and got North Korea to disarm its Nukes.
We formulated the perfect barbecue recipe, identified the perfect beer for any occassion, AND forged a lasting peace between Pakistan and India.
Nothing much happened.

You weren't around and most, though not all agreed that it was a reasonable idea, in fact, a few wanted it locked until midnight. I'll stand by my decision.colchar wrote:What the hell did I miss today? Anyone want to summarize what happened over in the LTE so that I don't have to read through it all?
