Nope. Martinis may only be gin. With an olive. Anything else is NOT A MARTINI!

I also enjoy a gibson. Gin, vermouth and cocktail onions.

The only true martini is a gin martini.

Hmm, haven't tried that!!!! IS that good? Expecting a review!
It is excellent. One of the best I've had. Maybe we should start a "Ymm, Scotch" or "Ymm, liquor" thread? I'll post some tasting notes next time I have a dram.
I've wanted to be a scotch consumer, but every time I try it burns going down my throat. I've tried some real Irish whiskey, though can't remember the name of it, and McCallum's (sp?). Is there a milder, for lack of a better word, you recommend to set me on this path? I feel like I'm letting my Irish roots down.

That is one of my favorite scenes, though nothing tops Penny's Christmas present to Shelden (I don't feel like looking up the correct spelling of his name).

Any time K68 has an "oh I see" moment, my response is usually "what does that mean?"

I played Warcraft when it was a stand-alone game. I never got into the standalone stuff.

Hey now, are we talking HOP scotchy (no offense intended), but you can't have developed a taste for scotch (ya know that stuff that you have to be 21+ to drink) yet, correct? If the latter, becareful, that stuff is addictive and can get you in a lot of trouble if you enjoy for anything but the taste! :-?

It is a reference to "The Big Bang Theory." The girl keeps hearing the head geek say AFK. She asks what it means and when he tells her she responds "oh, I see." Head geek asks "what does that stand for?"

You really need to check out "The Big Bang Theory." I don't get a lot of the theoretical physics stuff, actually I don't get any of it, but there is plenty of other stuff to LMAO.

Start with whisk(e)y over ice with a splash of water. As you grow accustomed to it, use less water.

I'd recommend starting with Irish Whiskey. It tends to be less harsh (they use less malted barley, meaning less smoke gets in the distillate) than Scotch. Some Irish Whiskeys tend to be fruity in fact. Red Breast Irish Whiskey is my favorite fruity (there's definitely a hint of peach in there) whiskey.

Macallan is a good starter Scotch. They age most of their whisky for part of the time in Sherry casks, reducing the harshness, they also don't use very peaty malt (there isn't much smoky flavor to it).

It's a movie quote. Ron Burgundy is the main character (played by Will Ferrell) in 'Anchorman', IMO one of the funniest movies of the past decade.
I salute you, CellR.
