In my opinion, the only places even remotely close to CTN of places to go to be involved in such wide variety of discussions with such nice people are in events like funerals, weddings or other "formal" events where eventually, with enough assistance from Dr. J. Daniels, Reverend Beam and a few other choice spirits, the conversation get crazy fun! lol

I mean, at our sports bar Halftime, there are about twenty tables to sit at and order food. Most people aren't actually there for the bar part. Except on game nights, it's packed.Devil in the Blue Dress wrote:I didn't realize that "foodies" congregated in bars.CameronBornAndBred wrote: I was thinking bar too, but that experience isn't free!

The sports bar I frequent has the best wings in the area, bar none - 'foodie' food? Probably not...but great food any way!

Re: What I like best about Crazietalk.Net
Here we go again over yonder! I started a thread about the long time almost unbroken connection between Duke and the Alabama football coaching tree. Most of the posts ended up being insults aimed at Alabama and then a little brush up between an Auburn fan and an Alabama fan.
The injury report for today's game started by Jim Sumner has deteriorated with pessimistic or sarcastic comments and low expectations for the program.
Thank goodness for this site where we can appreciate and celebrate Duke football and basketball!

Isn't it interesting that where the policy is supposedly strict that the tone is so negative and harsh?CellR wrote:I'm really glad that we don't have stringent posting rules over here.

I can see why they should be a little strict. The members of DBR aren't all quite as mature as CTN's. Not that all of us are mature really , it's more like we know when to stop and how to look at something from someone else's point of view. The problem is the over-the-top strictness. Who knows... Maybe it's just because there are too many people "over there"...

Great post by CameronBornandBred over there. Harsh, emotional comments have been flying in threads about the first game, the team and the season.

It is really unbelievable that we can change facilities, coaches, players, and still be awful. Anyone who mentions the cool-aid is spot-on. (I added that)

I've read some hot-headed, emotional comments in this thread that I have not been thrilled with, but for the most part they were thought out with some explanation.
Your post is disgusting. I was one of the fans that was there in droves. That team that was on the field did absolutely nothing to humiliate me. I had a great day, and I enjoyed the game. Yes, we lost, and we lost due to excessive mistakes, but I sure as hell wasn't humiliated. I'm proudly going to the next home game, and the one after that, and all of the rest. I'm going to State and unc, too. And if we haven't won a game by the time the season ends, I'll be there in Wade in my DUKE FOOTBALL shirt with my striped hat cheering and yelling as always. If you don't want to go, I appreciate that. I don't think you should come back. But I know lots of people who will want to go, so don't sit disgruntedly on your tickets.
