I'm allergic to cats too although really short term exposure, I'm OK. Also, I can usually tolerate cats that never go outside, for awhile anyway. As far as the metal thing goes, supposedly platinum doesn't cause the problem (at least in most people). I've told my husband I'll wear a wedding ring if he gets me one that won't make my finger itch, turn red, and swell up. He does want me to wear one but I refuse to buy it for myself so, we'll see, Ronnie is almost 5. I haven't worn a wedding ring since he turned 1 (that's when I finally figured out what was causing the problem).
