Welllll, it didn’t start so well. I topped my first tee ball, it rolled about 30’yards from not a very dense clump of weeds. Using a sand wedge, it took three mighty attempts to get the ball out. So after 4 strokes I was 40 yards off the tee box. I made a 9 on the par 4 hole. No other disasters on the remaining 17 holes, but I didn’t hit ball well all day, nor did I putt well. Tomorrow is another day and I can still win my flight. Let’s hope!

Sunday was somewhat better. I waited until the second hole to make my 9. But I finished strong- on number 15, a par four, I hit my second shot onto the green and we couldn’t find my ball? Sonofagun if it wasn’t in the hole for an eagle! I finished with two bogeys and a par, and damned if I didn’t win the third flight net prize money (which was the same as winning the first flight!) It paid to be so bad the first day! Worked out very well for me!

I'm probably gonna play hooky in a couple weeks and play Old Town in Winston-Salem again. Maple Chase is being redone and won't reopen til December, at the earliest. The Rev LG and his cronies play twice a week at various places using membership reciprocity.
