Do they even make RC anymore? I think it has been over 30 years since I've had one. Used to get them at the gas station down the road for like 15 cents or a quarter from the house.knights68 wrote:back in the day RC was THE thing, you are right. They do. I still have one every once in a while with a Moon Pie (I love Moon Pies). Usually, though, I just go with a (Cherry) Coke (Zero).cl15876 wrote: Do they even make RC anymore? Agree there. I voted other because DRP (pronounced DERP) is my favorite hands down.Hancock4Duke wrote:HELLO!!!!! I THINK YOU FORGOT ONE! DR. PEPPER IS BETTER THAN EVERTHING! EVEN BETTER THAN THOSE CHOCOLATE MARSHMALLOWS.
I can't handle any of the diet ones. I've tried them all. Being able to taste artificial sweeteners is genetic. If you can taste them, you will NOT like diet. I am extra sensitive to them (they had us lick sacarin strips in chemistry to see if we could tell... it was SO nasty that I almost ralfed . Many of my friends couldn't even taste it. Some of them puckered a little. I had the strongest reaction in the class by a landslide).
Back in college, I experimented a little with diet sodas. The ONLY one I could stomach was Diet Pepsi, and I drank it for a about two weeks, but soon just switched to water cause it was just too nasty.
Anyway, Dr. Pepper or Mr. Pibb are my favorites.

Re: Favorite Cola
I like them too, but I prefer Mr. Pibb, and not just because it's the Coca-Cola option. It tastes just a tad sweeter than Dr. Pepper to me, and I like that.bjornolf wrote: Anyway, Dr. Pepper or Mr. Pibb are my favorites.
If I'm someplace that sells Pepsi products and I really want a soda, I'll go with Dr. Pepper, because it's technically not a Pepsi product. The Dr. Pepper/7Up company is a stand-alone outfit; Dr. Pepper is just often distributed alongside Pepsi products.

I like the banana Moon Pies. I get them frequently when I'm on the road long distance and want a snack to carry me until dinner.wilson wrote: They do. I still have one every once in a while with a Moon Pie (I love Moon Pies). Usually, though, I just go with a (Cherry) Coke (Zero).

I thought you always kept corned beef and/or pastrami in a cooler on the front seat... :roll:OZZIE4DUKE wrote:I like the banana Moon Pies. [redacted] them and the horses they rode in on.
Re: Favorite Cola
I remember being specifically told I wasn't allowed to buy it on the first overnight school/church youth group trips I went on as a middle schooler. Never tasted it though.devildeac wrote:Any one remember Jolt Cola?
Re: Favorite Cola
It was like gold at TIP, too...the Dope Shop and the Lobby Shop would both sell out within hours of the camp starting, and if they got a new shipment during the session, that would sell out in hours, too.wilson wrote:I remember being specifically told I wasn't allowed to buy it on the first overnight school/church youth group trips I went on as a middle schooler. Re: Favorite Cola
I didn't include Dr Pepper since I don't consider it cola (is it?) ... it's just it's own thing. And I'd choose it over cola any day.
bjornolf, I'm like you. I can taste the sweeteners. They're not sweet at all, but very bitter and puckery.

DP is awesome, as well as Mr. Pibb. (One good thing Coca-Cola makes )DukeUsul wrote:I didn't include Dr Pepper since I don't consider it cola (is it?) ... it's just it's own thing. And I'd choose it over cola any day.

It's always interesting to try the off-brand sodas.

If the folks in this article know what's right, they'll tell FDA that they too want Wally Wade updated.
Shouldn't this story be put in Ozzie's FDA thread? ;)

Re: Favorite Cola
Interesting bit of trivia: when Sam's Choice cola first appeared on the market it was made by RC. I don't know if that is still the case.cl15876 wrote:Do they even make RC anymore? Most people say that is it is the intellect which makes a great scientist. They are wrong: it is character.

Re: Favorite Cola
What's odd is that the first link story headline claimed it was a mouse (with no attribution as to the mouse claim), but the FDA report suggested a "frog or toad."
Claims like this happen a lot against different businesses.
So, you mean to say that Coca-Cola hasn't been without its own controversies?
No puppies died as a result of this post. ;)
