What a game that was...

I have to say (knock on wood) the offensive play calling has really caught my eye through three games. Without looking at detailed numbers, there just seemed to be a great mix of deep balls, runs, short throws. Even the screen passes seem to have improved blocking schemes to increase chance of success. Bobo, Calhoun, Pancol, and Durant all are reliable pass catchers. Waters is not easy to tackle in open space and the offensive line pushed Northwestern around most of that game. Do we win if Northwestern benches Johnson sooner? Maybe? Either way, a very impressive win. Kicking game is at a high level.

We should beat Kansas. SHOULD.

I have to say (knock on wood) the offensive play calling has really caught my eye through three games.

I didn't get to watch the Charlotte game, but I'll give the next two outings one and a half games worth of credit.
The second half against NU was almost painful, watching Cut and Company swallow the ball and play not to lose instead of sticking with the first half play to win game plan.

Darrell Harding could be the deep threat we need. The second deep pass to him was broken up by a good play by the defensive back. I thought Harding had to wait on the ball just a tad, which was enough time for the DB to get his hand in and knock the ball to the ground.

Jarret Garner continues to disappoint. Holmberg overthrew him on a deep post route but it appeared to me Garner wasn’t running full speed. With a hustling Garner, that could’ve been another deep reception.

I’m looking forward to seeing how Duke responds to being a double digit favorite over Kansas.
