Well, guess that means I won't be going to the Duke-Kansas game. Brunchgate in Durham it is! Must look up dates.wilson wrote:That is the day of the Kansas game.ArkieDukie wrote: I posted about 50 pages ago that it's Sept. 19 but didn't want to go back and find the post. Hey, DinK, is that the day of the Duke-Kansas football game?
What is the Forest Park Balloon Race? Are y'all really going? Sounds like a great place to play with my (still) new camera.

It's pretty cool. I took some pics last year that are on my Facebook page. Didn't make the Balloon Glow but am going to try this year. I live within walking distance of Forest Park, which is a big bonus for events such as this one.

I guessed as much. After I've had my coffee I'm pretty good at catching such things. :geek:

Better fans? Yes (though I am as good a Braves fan as there is).YmoBeThere wrote:But a subtle admission that while not in the same division, the Cards have everything over the Bravos.wilson wrote:Heh...good catch. Totally unintentional.ArkieDukie wrote: St. Louis ... Cards ...
Better team this year? Probably (but the Braves have some life in them yet).
Better stadium? A wash. Both are great.
Better city? Depends on your perspective. Two entirely different places (although I do really like St. Louis).
Better uniforms? Another wash. Two of the best in the biz.

This might be considered sacrelige by some, but I have not yet gone to a Cards game. It's on my list of things to do at some point.wilson wrote:Better fans? Yes (though I am as good a Braves fan as there is).

Blasphemy, it should be the list.

Cardinals fans have heartily earned their reputation as the best fans in baseball. I'm a Dodgers fan and definitely fit the mold of show up late and leave early. You know it is a bit of an inconvenience.
(Primarily a Dodgers fan. Accused Sox bandwagoner. But seriously, I was rooting for them in '86 and some of the earliest baseball cards I owned were of Jim Rice and Dwight Evans.)

That's not accurate. Literally without understanding the context/connotation, you're technically correct. However, most folks understand it as "Broken Heart."wilson wrote:True story: "Creve Coeur" translates to "Burst Heart." That city name has always weirded me out.ArkieDukie wrote:...Creve Coeur...
