Re: The Official "Good Morning" Thread
Good morning from Holden Beach!
We had a scare Tuesday night when Mom tumbled down the stairs and hit her head. Three of her grandkids called 911, my physician brother sat with her (on the landing) until the folks from EMS arrived, and then my two brothers followed the ambulance to Grand Strand Hospital. MRIs and all sorts of tests revealed no internal bleeding, no bone breaks or sprains. She has no external bruising, either. She has a small bump on her very hard head. We are so grateful for the outstanding care she got from the first responders and from the emergency room personnel. This could have been so much worse. She didn't even spend the night at the hospital. My brothers brought her back to the beach in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.
Mom has agreed to use the elevator here from now on.
We haven't figured out what's going to happen at home, yet, but we will be working on a solution.
I haven't posted anything on FB about this yet because I didn't want to be inundated with comments, questions and "advice" from people while I'm trying to salvage the "rest" of this vacation. I did want to share this news with you, our CTN family, however. We covet your good thoughts, vibes and prayers.
As Mom says, "Growing old isn't for sissies." She is one tough lady.

Good morning!
So sorry for the bad news around the court house, LG. Prayers for everyone as they deal with this news.
Wow - so glad there wasn't much physical damage for your Mom, CathyCA. Prayers for guidance as you all look to the future. I think watching your parents age is a very difficult process. You have to start walking the fine line between child and caregiver.

Harrumph.
Cathy, glad your mother didn't get seriously injured. Hopefully you can come up with a solution that works well for everyone. Prayers for all of you.

**My SIL tells me that it might not have been an MRI, but a CT scan that Mom had. She has several artificial joints so my SIL thinks that it was a CT scan.
Whatever.
Mom had lots of tests performed the other night.
I take her home tomorrow. I covet your prayers, vibes, and/or good thoughts.

My thoughts and prayers are with Catherine and all of you. I hope she does not have a lot of stairs at home. Your mom is right, you have to be tough to get old.

Vibes for Catherine, so glad she wasn’t injured by her fall. Drive home safely.
Good morning from Hilton Head! Weekend getaway, I have to sit through a 2-Hour timeshare sales pitch this morning. 33 years ago, I sold timeshares. I’m immune to the pressure, and usually enjoy twisting the salesperson a little bit. We’ll see how it goes this morning
For those of you who are members of the TB’CC tailgate, if you haven’t responded yet about being a member again, or if you didn’t get the email, please let me know. If you haven’t been a member and would like to join, here’s your opportunity! $75 per family unit, plus $15/person for food at the tailgate (or in advance for the year). Again, let me know ASAP.

Good morning.
This morning we will be celebrating the life of an amazingly talented women. She carved the Duke pumpkin I use as a profile picture on FB at times. I am so lucky enough to have an Ukrainian egg she made. She took a class once and her jewelry was so good the teacher wouldn't talk to her afterward. She was a wonderful, stubborn woman.

Merlin is likely to be taking his last ride tomorrow. He is 15. Yesterday was a bad day. He has been a wonderful dog.

Condolences in advance. It’s always tough to do that, but it’s too bad we can’t be that loving and compassionate with people we love too, when the quality of life has deteriorated to that point.lawgrad91 wrote:Good morning.
