On Wednesday, Kathleen Scheer was not in the lineup as the Kingborough-Huon Kings finished their season with a 57-40 win over the Southern Wolves. Kathleen had another successful basketball season in Australia with the Hobart Chargers as she was one of the best players in the league again. Coming off her first European season, she did not end up playing as many midweek games in the local league organized by her team as she had in the past with the Kingborough-Huon Kings.

On Satuday, Miela Goodchild was already on her way to Duke so the Townsville Flames played the Rockhampton Cyclones in the Semifinal without her, winning 111-63. Stella Beck had 21 points and 10 rebounds, Haylee Andrews had 15 points and 6 assists, Micaela Cocks had 13 points and 9 rebounds. In the loss, ex-Oklahoma player Aaryn Ellenberg had 13 points, ex-DII player Christina Boag had 12 points and 10 rebounds, Brooke Blair, who just finished her career at Idaho State had 11 points, and ex-Louisiana Tech player Shanavia Dowdell had 10 points and 6 rebounds.

Miela had a strong season locally before heading to Duke as she played a key role in getting her team the top seed, and her absence hurt them in the championship series.

Also finishing up her season recently was Janee Johnson, who started her career at Duke before transferring elsewhere. She was injured during the bulk of the traditional European season, but was able to join the Stirling Senators in the state league in Western Australia to prove that she had returned to full strength as she had a solid season in their run to the playoffs before they lost.
