Do you park in a secured lot, LG? Or do disgruntled defendants have access to the prosecutors' vehicles?

What’s a secured lot? If the disgruntled defendants are handicapped, they park about 10 feet from me. If they are not handicapped, their parking starts another 15 feet away.

Our prosecutors and judges park in a fenced and gated parking lot which is accessible only by an electronic key. There is an entrance to the courthouse (also accessible only by ANOTHER electronic key) within their secured parking lot. The iron fence is about 8 feet tall with spikes on the top to discourage disgruntled defendants from jumping the fence and attacking the prosecutors, judges, and/or their vehicles.

The District Attorney's office is only accessible through ANOTHER electronic key which allows authorized personnel (including certain members of the local bar) to pass by the reception area which is surrounded by bullet-proof glass.

Just type "101 W. 2nd St., Greenville, NC" into your Google search bar. You will see a picture of the county courthouse and the federal courthouse. The federal courthouse is the one with less security.

Wow. There are two employee entrances at our courthouse that are swipe card controlled. The individual suites of offices are also swipe card controlled, but the same swipe card operates them. Some have numbers to be keyed in, some don’t. The elevator has some complicated system that only allows it to open on the first or fourth floor (ie, the roof) unless you know the numbers for it, which are hard to remember.

We literally did not have picture IDs until last year. We could get them before then, if we went to DMV and paid for them ourselves. I saw no reason to do so. I have a badge, which I did pay for myself.
