I'm taking Christian back to Raleigh this morning so that he can play his sousaphone in the State pep band at the game tonight.

(I'll be the mom who is cheering wildly for both teams (at home in front of my TV)!)

KARMA is a b*tch, and she shows up in the most interesting ways. Last night's loss to the Wuffies, and last year's loss to the Wuffies happened because my Dean's-List-in-Materials-Engineering-at-NCSU-kid was denied admission to Duke.

I cheered for both teams last night--it's exhausting, really! As long as my money and my kid go to NCSU, I am happy for State to beat Duke.

Definitely not a good morning. All week the forecast was freezing rain this morning. News this am reported 37 degrees and road surfaces were above freezing so no problems. Unfortunately, the brick patio in front of my sister's house didn't get that information and my brother- in-law's hip paid the price. He will be having a rod and bolts put in later this week. Prayers for his surgery and recovery would be greatly appreciated.

Good morning. It is 10 degrees but temps are expected to head into the 40s this afternoon. Hopefully this snow starts melting. I'm picking Flora up at the airport this morning. She spent the past three weeks in the Philippines and is coming home to freezing temps and snow all over the ground.

Good morning. It is 39 degrees this morning so snow is going to start melting today. Main roads have been clear for a couple days but it is still a challenge getting out of the neighborhood.

Well it's not morning here but close enough! Have been MIA with a houseful of kids, grands and dogs - tons of fun, lots of noise, and much craziness. I think we are back to just the two of us - at least I haven't discovered a still sleeping teenager anywhere! Here's to a new start to Duke BB SOON!
