Good morning! It's a beautiful, sunny morning in PA. We are going on the road to Emmaus today. Their farmer's market is today. Perhaps a short hike in the afternoon.
Enjoy the celebrations, Cathy!

That's great, Cathy! You really have a lot to be thankful for.CathyCA wrote:Good morning!
This is a day of celebration! It's Senior Sunday at church, and Christian is going to be honored here (and at our church in San Jose). He's getting a scholarship given through the church which honors the memory of a young man who was a student at NCSU when he was tragically killed in a car accident. The church is giving the seniors a celebratory lunch after our worship service, and the parents get to speak about their kids for a while. I'm going to depart from the script, and instead of bragging all over my son, I'm going to thank all of the people at the luncheon for helping me to raise him into a remarkable young man. Christian finished his Eagle Scout project yesterday, so we have a lot for which to be thankful. (Now on to the paperwork. . .)
This afternoon, the bishop of the NCCUMC, and the clergy and members of Jon's 100 churches in the Capitol District are going to honor him at a "Rev Up" celebration and pig pickin' this afternoon near Raleigh.
Finally, I learned late yesterday that my Sam is flying in today for Christian's graduation which will be held on Wednesday. (ExLax's fiancee's father died, and the family decided to have the funeral on Wednesday, so she can't make the graduation here in Greenville. A few telephone calls later, and her non-refundable airline ticket was transferred over to Sam.)
Happy, happy, joy, joy!
Most people say that is it is the intellect which makes a great scientist. They are wrong: it is character.

Good morning!
Went on a 35 mile bike ride yesterday. Must admit that it has been way too long since I was on a bike. Several cramps yesterday but feel remarkable well today - we will see how long that lasts. Not sure what is on the agenda to try to kill me today - but tomorrow we go hiking. I need to keep this activity level up when I get home from vacation.
