It is interesting what you can do with PWing when you don't visit the site for about 18 hours...  :))

Wonder if 1500 or 2000 is the next milestone for changing one's "designation" on CT...

Just sayin'... ;)

So, my wife and I decided to splurge. Since my camera broke and we have a 16 month old daughter, my wife decided we didn't want to miss too many big moments, so we ordered a D60 yesterday. I got it from one of the better sellers on eBay, and it's a brand new one. Guy threw in a VR lens, too, which will be great for my purposes. Also includes a wide angle attachment and a telephoto attachment for the lens, plus the camera case, a 4G memory card, two long life batteries, neck strap, case, two tripods (the regular one and a mini table top one) and free shipping. Anyway, now I'm desperately waiting for it to come. :-w This is gonna count as my birthday AND Christmas gift, and my wife's counting it as HER birthday and Christmas as well. I'll probably still get her the two dozen rose special from Costco. They're gorgeous, especially after I arrange them in a vase, and they only cost about $15. They last a good week and a half to two weeks too, depending on which color you get (yellow roses are notorious for not surviving long, which sucks, since it's one of my wife's favorites). She likes gerber daisies even better, though, so maybe I'll get her some of those from Costco.

Hey, speaking of which, my dad used to have a camera case that went around the bottom of his old Nikon, then a wrap around piece snapped to that one. So, you could carry the camera around your neck on its strap, protected, then just unsnap, let it dangle, and shoot quickly. Do they still make those, cause that seems like a great way to protect a camera WHILE using it?

I am still in Antsiranana, but I have turned in my Orange modem, so I have to post from the Housseni.com cybercafe. I leave tomorrow afternoon here, and will take twenty bazillion (can I use that word in Scrabble?) hours to get home to Kentucky. It might take a little more, if I get bumped.

I am SOOOOOO looking forward to Bert's chili. :D

I do not want to pack up my whole bedroom today. Gotta do it, though. At least I'll be able to mostly do it while watching TV.

Lease is up in two weeks, brother wants to buy a house, big research year starts in May. That means I don't want to start another lease here in Atlanta & try to either negotiate a short-term arrangement or find a subletter next summer (to say nothing of the prospect of moving twice in ~9 months).
So, it's back in with Mom for the upcoming school year. I'm not completely thrilled about it, but it really won't be that bad, either; I'll save up a ton of cash, at the very least.

Once again, not getting NEAR that topic. Unless you're looking for a BOWEL stimulus package. Then I'd have a suggestion or two.
