Yikes, can't believe we are this far into November!

I would be proactive if i could and tell The Boss in writing that you think unless X, Y and Z happen the project will go away and how does he wish to proceed.

Did Boss explain to RR that 30>5?

I got to give my very first organ "recital" yesterday - and I never had a lesson. :D
I volunteered to be a key holder for 2 hours while the organ was being tuned. I don't play organ or piano but do know the keys so off I went. I even got to play the foot pedals and pull the various stops. It was a fun time - although not very musically beautiful.
Life is good!

From here on out, I will surely be documenting everything. The Boss has not told me anything about how the meeting went, so I'm not sure what (if anything) I'll be doing from here on out. It appears to me that he's still pushing his little pet WEC as the expert, and that's fine with me. I have my own fish to fry.

Today I learned where Bar Minion landed: she got a job as an applications scientist with one of the big instrument companies. :-o =)) I heard this bit of news initially from the service engineer who's in town working on Road Runner's instrument (the one Bar Minion used to manage). I said something about her no longer being with us; he responded with, "Yeah, I know. She's working for us now." I know that he's had his own set of problems with Bar Minion (she filed a complaint against him), so I responded with, "Oh, I'm sorry." Her new position is as an applications specialist. She will be traveling around doing customer training. :-o =))

The second person I heard this from is a friend who also works for the same company. She actually did our on-site training for Road Runner's instrument and did not get along at all with Bar Minion. She emailed me a couple of days ago, asking to go out for lunch today. Once I found out that she was working with Bar Minion, I suspected I knew why she wanted to do lunch. I was right. I started our conversation with, "So, I hear Bar Minion is working for your company now. What's up with that?" She told me she found out about it when the new hire bulletin came out earlier this month and immediately called a friend who works in the same area as Bar Minion to ask, "What the heck are you people thinking?" As it turns out, the company hired a bunch of new people, and they hired Bar Minion based upon a single Skype interview. My friend's contact has already figured out the error of his ways and shares her opinion of Bar Minion: she will be TERRIBLE as an applications specialist because she cannot work well with others and she's not very smart. Bar Minion will likely not make it past the 90 day trial period.

Now, here's where things get fun. Bar Minion was essentially hired to replace my friend. She took a different position within the company because she didn't want to travel 80% of the time any more. Her new position isn't what they described to her, and she's really not happy at all. She wanted to feel me out to see if Road Runner had found a replacement yet for Bar Minion. I advised her not to look in that direction at all (partially because Road Runner is bat :poo: crazy) but because Road Runner is almost out of money. I then told her about MacGyver's new grant and that he is looking to hire a research scientist. Flash forward to our re-entry into the building, when we ran into ... drumroll ... MacGyver! I introduced them and told him that my friend might be interested in the research scientist position in his lab. He was thrilled. They started talking, and, sure enough, my friend is the absolute perfect person for the position. She's very smart and already knows how to operate MacGyver's instrument. She also has experience in reviving instruments that have been pulled out of a dumpster. Her husband has a job with Exxon, so she's local. MacGyver gave her a tour and they exchanged business cards. This one could seriously happen, and I am thrilled. If MacGyver does manage to hire her and Road Runner finds out that I arranged it, she will be 100 shades of pissed off. Not that I care.
Most people say that is it is the intellect which makes a great scientist. They are wrong: it is character.

Stacking the deck with people you know is a great way to improve the work place.

Between 30>5, your stealth trip to St Louis and now a possible hire RR is not going to be your friend anymore =)) =))

Vibes and Prayers for Ferguson Missouri. People are destroying their own community, and over 2200 National Guard are deployed.
I listened to the interview with the Officer.

The announcement should have been at 9am, not 9pm.
