It is the week of Passover, so sacrificing sheep is timely. Actually, sacrificing that particular set of sheep is always timely.

London later said “everybody comes short of meeting an expectation” when asked about Watford’s absence and the Hampton native admitted an off-field “incident” led to his omission.
Ouch.

That's well-phrased, Bob. Kinda like how we admired Larry Drew III as the PG for unc because he had such a talent for threading multiple passes into the 3rd or 4th row of the media or fans on such a regular basis.

Matt Fortuna is doing a series of "Toughest Stretches", and has Duke's up.
Our toughest is, according to him, @ Syracuse then our two home games with VT and the heels. Not much to argue against there; at least those last two are in WW.

Even though Vad Lee was the starter last year, Justin Thomas played much better than Vad when he got his opportunities. I have a feeling that Vad's transfer wasn't just about him wanting to pass more. I think Vad was in trouble of losing the starting job to Thomas after he performed pretty average late in the season.
I think Justin Thomas will be very good running that offense for the Jackets this year. Hopefully he turns it over a few times when we play in Atlanta

I realize I am being totally shallow here, a young woman has been raped, which is an absolutely unforgiveable sin; however, I choose to focus on the football angle of the story, Miami's weak defense just got weaker:

"There is no confusion about our responsibility as a university: We will fully and compassionately support the victim of sexual assault. I have spoken to her myself and reassured her of our full support," she said in her statement, adding that Miami has launched its own investigation into the incident and is cooperating with the police.
There are similarities and differences (for one, the Miami players confessed), but I respect the U's handling and attitude of the situation, unlike a certain school up the state from them.

What CB&B said. It doesn't appear the U did anything to sweep this under the rug, unlike the people in their state capital.
And, honestly, I"m not crushed about their defense getting weaker, either.

Here is Mark Watson's take on the schedule:
http://bluedevilnation.net/2014/07/taki ... -schedule/
He makes some interesting points on several of the teams. For starters, he believes the trip to Syracuse will be a tough one and he says watch out for the Kansas Jayhawks.

Even though I think we should be able to beat Kansas by double-digits, they are a team that scares me. Charlie Weiss is a good coach and I thought they made some strides toward the end of last year.
I have always thought that this schedule is going to be tougher than expected. Troy will be an interesting task for the team early in the season. We must remember they were a couple plays away from beating us on our home field last year. Also, the road games at Pitt and 'Cuse will be crucial if a coastal title is the goal. Those will be very tough road games that could position us nicely for a November to Remember with VT and UNC coming at the end of the year.

The game at Pitt gets a little help with some bad news on their end.
Pitt defensive end Ejuan Price will miss the 2014 season with a chest injury, further depleting an already thin position group for the Panthers.
Price was penciled in as a starter on Pitt’s new-look defensive line. He had a strong start to the 2013 season, recording 23 tackles, including four for a loss, in six games before a back injury Oct. 19 against Old Dominion ended his season.

Rumors, rumors and more rumors...according to posts at TDD (yeah I am using an internet message board as a source), Carolina is about to lose two defensive lineman to academic suspension. I'll believe it when I see it.
Their defense is weak so if this is true it could be crippling.
