Taking Mom to the orthopedic specialist. Vibes that he will be able do "something" (replacement, I guess) about her knee. Her usual orthopedic doc has said no surgery due to her age and other issues. Her GP says she feels like Mom would be a good candidate for surgery.

Taking Mom to the orthopedic specialist. Vibes that he will be able do "something" (replacement, I guess) about her knee. Her usual orthopedic doc has said no surgery due to her age and other issues. Her GP says she feels like Mom would be a good candidate for surgery.

I sure hope your mom can get a replacement. If she is in good health, I don't see why not.

Is that Waterside?

Yes, it is. We are in the Sheraton (formerly Omni) Waterside, looking over the Elizabeth River and Portsmouth.

In the very center of the picture, the white semi circular building, is where my Dad worked for a week out of high school before Uncle Sam "invited" him to give up working for the railroad and see the world instead.

I sure hope your mom can get a replacement. If she is in good health, I don't see why not.

She has low kidney function and some heart issues, but nothing you wouldn't expect an 80 plus year old lady to have. She thinks her doc won't do it because of her age, and her kidney and heart doctors would sign off on her having surgery.
