Re: LTE 2.0
It's really hot here. It's 9PM, and it's still 89 degrees outside. It's supposed to hit triple-digits later this week.
Most houses don't have AC here. We lost a fishtank full of fish in Aug. 2006, due to a weeklong heat spell. (Fish soup!)
Our furnace went out two years ago. We made the decision, even though it was costly, to put in a heatpump along with the new furnace. We now have AC, and I am grateful on a daily basis for that. Ahhhhh.
Did I mention it's still hot here? (Though we blessedly don't have that NC humidity!)

I've got a few pics of Charleston up on Facebook, representative of both this beautiful city and my wonderful new toy.
If we're not Facebook friends, then 2 things:
1. Why the hell not?
2. PM me for info if you want to friend me/see more pics.
I'll be taking more later this week when I have more time to be out while the light is good.

You don't walk the plank in NJ. You just disappear. Forever.
Re: LTE 2.0
This is not something I would deny. I'm perplexed as to why people perceive pink as so heavily gendered a color. I wear a lot of it and don't really worry about whatever connotations it might have.Sue71 wrote: Stop denying it, the pink bike is yours.
Sadly, however, that bike is not mine.

I heard about that on NPR, and I did an audible double take when they said Portland. I was trying to think of any southern state that also had a Portland, because I couldn't imagine it hitting 100 up there, but then they threw in that Canada is having lots of problems with forest fires and the heat. Hoping you get back to normal soon.DevilAlumna wrote:It's really hot here. It's 9PM, and it's still 89 degrees outside. It's supposed to hit triple-digits later this week.

The house my brother lived in on Oahu, was atop the Wai'anae range, on the west coast. The only time he turned on a/c was when the trade winds weren't blowing. The house was single-wall construction. Paradise.
Side note/ He rented this house from a Japanese fellow that operated an Italian restaurant.

I forget if any CrazieTalkers are future lawyers, but the Bar Exam(s?) are today and tomorrow, so best of luck and big vibes to anyone who may be taking them.

I've got several friends taking them now (which also means I've got several friends convinced that they're failing them now). Apologies for any perceived weakness in my vibes, for they are currently divided, you see.DevilAlumna wrote:I forget if any CrazieTalkers are future lawyers, but the Bar Exam(s?) are today and tomorrow, so best of luck and big vibes to anyone who may be taking them.

Crosswords on my mind...not cross words, but the puzzles. How long does it take everyone to do say the NYT crossword? And do you use any aids?
Re: LTE 2.0
Depends on what day of the week. Monday, 10-15 minutes. Friday and Saturday, 30 or so (45 if it's really a doozie). The Sunday one usually takes me two sittings and a total of an hour and a half or so. I always feel like I was really on top of my game if I can finish it in one sitting. My record for a Sunday puzzle is probably 35-40 minutes or so.YmoBeThere wrote:Crosswords on my mind...not cross words, but the puzzles. How long does it take everyone to do say the NYT crossword? My first meal back in the US should include...
Yogurt, matzah ball soup, or pastrami?

Why are you limiting yourself? Matzah ball soup as an appetizer, pastrami as the main course, and your favorite yogurt as a healthy dessert.Lavabe wrote:Yogurt, matzah ball soup, or pastrami?

Why not add BUD LIGHT to the discussion too?Miles wrote:Why are you limiting yourself? Matzah ball soup as an appetizer, pastrami as the main course, and your favorite yogurt as a healthy dessert.Lavabe wrote:Yogurt, matzah ball soup, or pastrami?

The problem is that we live in Lexington, KY, and neither MBS nor pastrami have a foothold in the Bluegrass State.
Is there a good pastrami place in Dulles Airport?

I'm gonna wager that, like my airports, you're not gonna be able to find a good anything. I guess it's yogurt as your first meal back?Lavabe wrote:Why not add BUD LIGHT to the discussion too?Miles wrote:Why are you limiting yourself?
