NC State Fair: Sloppy Joe Doughnut Burger

Post by devildeac » October 9th, 2013, 6:05 pm

To further add to the list of attractions that North Carolina has to offer, I suspect we'll have traffic jams next week to partake of this new State Fair addition:

This year’s fair is Oct. 17-27 in Raleigh.
Excellent timing, after the Navy game and before the N.C. State game.

Wow. That's incredible! If I were a doctor I'd be subsidizing them to make those things... the public's consumption of them will keep you in work perpetually :p

Wonder if such a thing could be 'stolen' and added to one of our tailgate menus??

I tried to get them to deep fry some Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Reese's Cups a few years ago. They wouldn't go for it. I doubt they'd attempt to duplicate one of those State Fair "delicacies."

(I tried to get the NC State Fair folks to include one of my cards with each purchase of a Sloppy Joe Doughnut Burger. They said try again next year =)) .)

WRAL, News 5 has been showing footage of the NC State Fair, as it is Media Day!

The Sloppy Joe Krispy Kreme Doughnut Burger was featured in the footage. Those doughnuts were glistening.

The Turkey Legs are good and so are the Ham Biscuits (Church vendors).

I went to the NC State Fair yesterday. I never saw the Sloppy Joe Krispy Kreme Burger, but I saw all the Deep Fried goodies. So many Food vendors to choose.

Always love seeing the Hogway Speedway RAcing with the Pigs, Ducks and Goats. Beside them are the K-9 Hi Flyers.... the dogs were great.

Enjoy watching the kids on the rides, and observing the Extreme Thriller Rides.

As I was leaving, there were 2 ambulances going into the Fair. They were going to the Injured people from the Vortex Ride. Prayers to the injured and speedy recovery.

The weather was great yesterday. About 60 degrees, during the day, and high 40s in the evening.

Jon and I are heading out to the State Fair this afternoon. We'll likely eat at all of the United Methodist church food places and avoid all of the rides on the midway. Beyond that, we're flexible.

It's a gorgeous day for the fair!

First, we had ribbon fries. Then, we got our flu shots. Next, we ate chili cheeseburgers with slaw and onions at the Cary Methodist food booth. We ventured next door to the Westover Methodist Church booth and bought ham biscuits which I took home to Sam and Christian for their breakfast on Sunday morning (they ate them on Saturday night). Finally, we had deep fried oreos for dessert.

I feel so full. Still.
