Good night all. Happy birthday Oz, vibes flowing to Donna, happy thoughts for Cathy and her boys. Hope you're having fun and learning lots at Apple, Native. Lots going on in our lives.
If there are any vibes not being used, the OP can use some tomorrow.

Both of my boys are here tonight. One is asleep; the other is downstairs in the kitchen eating. I am one happy mama!
Good night!

I am still at work. I don't think I'm going to sleep tonight, trying to restore a server. My overtime is through the roof.

Took a Tylenol PM. Can't afford not to sleep again tonight. Been doing entirely too much thinking. Heading to the rack now. Nite all.

Re: The Official "Good Night" Thread
We're home from the emergency room at PCMH, er, Vidant Medical Center.
Vidant is the new name of the hospital here in town. It is a made-up name. In French, it is the present participle of the verb "vider" which means "to gut" as in gutting a fish.
Sam and I had gone to WalMart tonight to get a few things. He needed ear phones and some other stuff for his summer adventure at the farm. When we got home, he used his brand new utility knife to open the plastic packaging on the ear phones. The knife slipped and he cut a gash in his hand. It would not stop bleeding. Blood was everywhere!
We went to urgent care, but it was closed. We came home. The bleeding wasn't stopping.
We went to the emergency room and they triaged it. Turns out, he needed 6 stitches and a tetanus shot.
I remarked to the doctor who sewed up Sam that I was amazed at how quickly we were seen. I told her that I had thought that Saturday nights were their busy times. She said, "It's raining tonight. Greenville's finest doesn't like to go out in the rain." Three hours from injury to being back at home again isn't bad at all!
I am tired, and I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow.
Good night!

Glad Sam is ok. Stuff like that happens. When I was 14, we were in Puerto Rico for Christmas vacation and while I was cutting the meat out of a coconut the brand new, very sharp pocket knife closed on my pointing finger, stopping at the bone. No stitches, but I had to keep it dry for the next week. No swimming, no beach. way to ruin a vacation. I still don't like pocket knives.

Re: The Official "Good Night" Thread
One sort of funny story from last night: We brought the knife with us to the ER to show the nurses and doctors when they asked how Sam cut his hand. Of course, we forgot about security at the front door to the ER who wouldn't let the knife through their metal detectors. We had to take it back to the car. So, when the doctor asked, "What kind of knife was it," we had to use our words, rather than our "Exhibit A."OZZIE4DUKE wrote:Glad Sam is ok. Stuff like that happens. Glad to hear he's okay. That cut is gonna hurt. Metal cuts are painful during healing. I HATE damned blister packaging. It must be the cheapest way to do it with a level of security.

Glad Sam is okay.
Someone should sue the packaging companies. That stuff is lethal.

Fer sher! If you don't cut yourself with the tool you're using to open it, you'll cut yourself on the plastic itself. Vibes to Sam. I hope you can at least enjoy your earphones as you recover!lawgrad91 wrote:Glad Sam is okay.

Glad he is doing okay. I've always used can openers on the blister packaging. Works fairly well.

Good to hear that Sam is doing ok! And your wait in ER was not to long.
