Grayson Allen
Grayson Allen (OY calls him "Grayson Allison"), a shooting guard listed as #36 in the ESPN 60 Class of 2014, tweeted the word "Committed!!!" with an Instagram picture of a large D.

Re: Grayson Allen
Allen is an excellent shooter who has a rep as a run and jump athlete. Last weekend, he didn't impress at the Nike EYBL in LA, but reports are he was playing injured. The EYBL moves to Hampton, VA (Boo Williams Sports Complex) this weekend. I plan to go take a look on Sunday. My worry is whether or not he can play Duke defense, but watching him this weekend will not tell me anything because "defense" and "AAU Basketball" are incongruent.

Re: Grayson Allen
I read somewhere he had a bum ankle last weekend. Maybe he can get his obligatory lower extremity injury out of the way early.

Do let us know what you saw ASAP. I still don't quite know what to think of this one.Bob Green wrote:Allen is an excellent shooter who has a rep as a run and jump athlete. Allen did not play in the tournament due to injury so I stayed home and did productive things around the house - sat at the kitchen table surfing the internet and drinking beerIma Facultiwyfe wrote:Do let us know what you saw ASAP. EYBL Session 4
Mods, feel free to move this to the Grayson Allen thread. I failed to realize that would be a better spot for this until after I had posted it.
I think everyone will be pleased hear Grayson Allen's leg injury doesn't seem to be hindering him this weekend EYBL (or at least his game wouldn't seem to say so).
For the record, it seems he is not playing with the Southern Stampede, but instead is playing with Each One Teach One (E1T1). The same AAU team that featured Austin Rivers a few years ago and now features future Tarheel Joel Berry.
In game one, Grayson finished with 30 pts, 3 rebs, and 2 assists in just 18 minutes of action, in a very efficient 10-15 shooting.

In game 2: Grayson went for 17 its, 4 rebs, and 4 assist in 21 minutes. He was again efficient, shooting 6-8 from the field. This was against Tyus Jones' Howard Pulley squad.

Nope, I stayed home from EYBL Session 2, which was played in Hampton, VA just across the James River from where I live. This weekend's EYBL games are being played in Dallas, TX.devildeac wrote:Hey, Bob, is this the tournament you stayed home for and did productive things?

Gotcha. Thanks for clarification! I knew you wouldn't do anything contrary to productive posting/game watching ;) .Bob Green wrote:Nope, I stayed home from EYBL Session 2, which was played in Hampton, VA just across the James River from where I live.
