Maybe it did for you but some of us are still doing fine. Besides, I've always preferred marathons to sprints.

And yet you wonder why you were never in the running for Windsor's daughter (we really need to know her name so that we can stop calling her Windsor's daughter)...
I am just showing how open-minded I am! Really!

And, endurance should not be a problem. I am not one to sprint the Race of Love.

By publically admitting you intend to cheat on her (with DA no less) you are voted off the island. Fail. Thanks for playing. L-)

The accent would be a big plus with her! I have a New York accent (not nearly so cool as a scottish one) that comes roaring back when I talk to folks from NYC or I visit, so I know what you mean. You qualify as having brains not so much because you are an ABD PhD candidate but becasue when you began to doubt your career path you sought advice rather than plod along simply because 'you came this far'. That shows wisdom not just book learnin'

Never talked about any issues, as I don't think have any! Adaptation my son, Marathons are wonderful (love them), but sometimes you need to see if you can keep up in the short run also! :D ;)

I most certainly am not - I'm trying to keep this thread classy (a first for me!). Actually, that post was well timed with a discussion I was having with my roommate at the same time in which we were discussing a couple of people at the bar last night who got rather drunk fairly quickly. We, of course, described them as being good in a sprint but not much for marathons.

What's the over under on how long it would have taken for this thread to get locked on TBTSNB (The Board that Shall Not be Named)

I just wanted to set the record straight.

Plus, it's something that I couldn't post over on TBTSNBN.

We could all see that one coming!

Isn't it fun being able to drop in and out of an accent at will? My roommate and his brother always find it strange how I can be watching NASCAR or hockey with them and sound one way but, as soon as my parents call, my accent sounds completely different and then, once I hang up the phone, I can go right back to the way I sounded before the call took place.

I work part-time in a bar while in school and three Scots guys came in last week who sounded like they were straight off the boat from Glasgow. I'd met one of them previously so we started chatting and he introduced me to the others. After we finished talking and they walked into the bar a couple of friends who were standing outside with me looked shocked and asked how I could so easily slip from one accent/vernacular into another and back again.

Good point.

Nice name. Although I somehow thought of her as a Lisa.

Instantaneous. Complete with infractions points. And, a rectal prolapse from certain of the moderators.

What is KRYSTA's (I love the way that looks when I type it...) favorite accent?

As soon as it was created they would've locked and deleted it.

It is fun dropping in and out of accents....I don't do it on purpose (in fact I have to watch it sometimes because I will pick up any accent when I speak to someone and I don't want anyone to think I am mocking them) it just kind of happens.

marathon vs sprint = drinking. Ok, I'll give you a pass on that one!

Leaving work - ought to be funny to relay this thread to my daughter tonight!!! =)) No worries, she already knows I'm nuts.

Not sure what her favorite accent is - I'll have to ask her.

I was wondering how long it would be before you had her reading this. When she does, Sham really will be out of the running...
