Good morning. The game was nerve racking.

Good Morning! And I agree Windsor... I was holding my breath down the stretch last night. I'd have never thought Kelly was such an important cog but the evidence is obvious...

Good morning.
I was throwing things last night. I think my shooting percentage was better than the team's from 3 point land....But it was a win, and I'll take those however they come.

Re: The Official "Good Morning" Thread
Good morning. Finally. At 3:00 am a transformer up the street blew, and it went dark. I was awakened by the beeping of the UPS in my bedroom (Uninterruptible Power Supply, not the little brown trucks ). I called 911 to report it. About 15 minutes later I looked out the bedroom window because I heard a big truck idling, thinking it was the power company already. It was a fire truck with its red lights flashing. I got dressed and went to find out why. When the transformer blew, the 2 feet of wooden pole above it caught fire! It was out at this point, but in the light of my flashlight I could see it was blackened and half gone!
The power company got there about 4:30 and replaced the pole and the transformer. At 9:25 a.m., power was restored!
Now, it's time to get some

Re: The Official "Good Morning" Thread
My bigger, newer UPS on my desktop computer (plus cable modem, router, etc.) failed last night. The batteries don't hold a charge anymore, so the equipment crashed. No damage, but now I've got to either replace the batteries (~$60) or replace the whole unit at Costco or Sam's Club for ~$100. Not sure what I'll do tomorrow when I'm in Raleigh, but I'll do one or the other.OZZIE4DUKE wrote: Finally. At 3:00 am a transformer up the street blew, and it went dark. This UPS was made in 2008 and I bought it 4 to 5 years ago. UPS batteries generally last 3 to 5 years, depending on how much they are used. As they age, the retain less and less of their capacity, so they support the load for shorter times. This is normal, a characteristic of the beast. My support time is showing on the display as 0 minutes.

Good morning.
In the "hey, you kids, get off my lawn!" realm, the varnish zone schools are opening two hours late because of wind and cold (HARRUMPH! I went to Christian school, which meant I stood outside in the cold waiting for the bus IN A DRESS), so the office is officially a day care this morning.

What? You had a BUS? No walking miles through waist deep snow uphill (both ways)...

Re: The Official "Good Morning" Thread
Costco had a Cyber Power 1350 VA unit for $90, 3-year warranty, similar features as the old APC 1250 VA unit. I couldn't see putting $60 worth of batteries in the old unit. (Sam's had an APC 1350 VA unit, but that was $155 plus tax. If that had been my only option, I would have gone with new batteries in the old unit.)OZZIE4DUKE wrote:My bigger, newer UPS on my desktop computer (plus cable modem, router, etc.) failed last night. Good morning! Game day! I'm going meeting two women today to shoot pics for a portrait series that I am working on, the first was the last painting I posted in latest works. Tomorrow I am going to Greenville to take pics of another one. Between photos and sports, my weekend has already filled up.
