CTN vibes for Devil in the Blue Dress Mom
Lifted from the moving thread- "I have been spending the past several days at Wake Forest Baptist Health with my mother who's been in the Cardiac Care Unit since an admit from ER on Wednesday. Had I known you were in town, you might have been called on to give a second opinion!"
Mega vibes to your mom and you, Janet (((((((((((((((((((((((((( )))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Vibes and prayers for your Mom, DITB. Keep us updated on how she is doing.
If I had known yesterday, we could have stopped by and said hello to y'all when we went to visit a 90 year old lady from church.

DITBD tells me that today is "transition day" for her mom to move to the rehab/assisted living facility. All the vibes headed toward the hospital are now being re-routed to assisted living. We're hoping all goes smoothly and that BlueDress Mom likes and is happy in her new digs! Hope you get a chance to put your feet up soon, DITBD!

Re: CTN vibes for Devil in the Blue Dress Mom
Thank you all for the moral support!
Discharge from the hospital took nearly all day. It was tiring, but my mother got in some PT while we waited. We got to the assisted living facility about an hour before supper and were greeted by some of the kindest, most efficient folks who welcomed us and got Mom settled in her room. My brother and his wife joined us for supper. Mom, who is 91 (92 in August), found herself the center of attention from the men's table in the dining room. Back in her room, other residents were coming by to welcome her. A good start to a new beginning!
The past 18 months have been very challenging as Mom experienced various changes in her overall health. I've been providing assisted living services, helping her throughout that time.
I look forward to deep, satisfying sleep tonight!

Re: CTN vibes for Devil in the Blue Dress Mom
Again, thank you all for such marvelous support! I slept well and am now preparing to meet with the owner of the facility to complete the necessary administrative processing we couldn't do last night. PT begins tomorrow.
I look forward to seeing Mom later in the day and hearing about her adventures.

Re: CTN vibes for Devil in the Blue Dress Mom
Mom has been at AL facility since late Monday afternoon. She has gone from planning to leave in a day or two to beginning to participate in activities as her energy permits..... a nearly 92 yo recovering from a mild heart attack a few days ago. PT has begun and on days there isn't a PT appointment her helpers see that follow up exercises are done.
Yesterday when Mom saw her primary care physician, she was asked how the food is and how things are going. She said the food is very good and that she's content.
She's gradually learning to use/accepting the call button to request snacks, assistance, whatever she wants or needs. She says she now rings for cookies and milk before bedtime so her stomach doesn't growl at night. She likes being invited to go to meals in the dining room and being escorted by her helper.
She giggled at the notice she received from the men's table in the dining room when she made her first appearance at meal time. (She's the only one in that wing whose hair isn't white.)
Please keep the positive vibes, prayers and thoughts coming. They're working!
