Josh vibes, please

So, we hope vibes are not necessary, but my son, Josh, has had a swollen lymph node in his neck for 2 months. A course of mediocre antibiotics didn't help. He develeped another swollen lymph node above his collar bone. Apparently this one popped up over night, 2 days ago and is golf-ball sized. Ick. Vibes that we ARE dealing with a microbe in this case and that the ER (he has no insurance) will give him a strong antibiotic that will kick the shit out of the nodes. Otherwise, we're making plans to get him to Duke.

Thanks everybody. I'm 30% relieved. Josh went to the ER and was told by the doctor that he didn't think he has anything to worry about. No antibiotics were prescribed, but he was referred to a dental clinic because he does have a bad tooth which I have hoped is the cause of the inflammation anyway. Apparently the doctor had no explanation for lateral collar bone lymph that popped up so quickly. I am doing my best to take off my PA hat and stick with the mom hat. Josh will make a dental appointment Monday. So, we go from there. The PA me still wishes an antibiotic had been prescribed. Grrrr.
