At least it quit in Henry County, where a nice (and, frankly, pretty cute) deputy picked me up and drove me to the gas station, then drove me back.CathyCA wrote:Oh no.lawgrad91 wrote:Harumph.

The gas light came on about 10 miles earlier, but I thought I had enough gas to get to Ridgeway. Guess not.

Could'a been worse, you know. At least you had the good taste and sense to actually have a look at the gauges. Imagine if you had run out of fuel in the "S" curves on 220 south of Ridgeway! NOT GOOD!lawgrad91 wrote:Harumph.

A couple of months ago, I was lettin' it roll through those fun curves, (Ooops! I told on myself) when I ran up on sudden and blind (other side of a curve) stopped line of cars in both lanes! A tree had blown down from the right shoulder across all the right and half of the left lane. I made it okay.

Love the S curves in my Audi, but those trees are capable of falling any time of the year.captmojo wrote:Could'a been worse, you know. In my defense, this is the first time I've ever run out of gas, in my nearly 30 years of driving. Hope I can go another 30 without doing it again.

Good morning, still from Orlando (another day of training on IAQ - Indoor Air Quality, how to assess it, how to treat it). No time to go hang with JJ .

Re: The Official "Good Morning" Thread
I have a history of thinking I know my gas gauge... to the point that I carry a 1 1/2 gallon gas can (empty) in the trunk of my cars, just in case. Today's gas stations are rarely "service stations" and most don't have approved containers to transport fuel back to your car/truck. I learned this the hard way too So I purchased the cans at Wal-Mart for just a couple of $ and carry them in the trunk. I consider them "disposable" because I don't want to carry around a smelly used can in my trunk once it has served its purpose. Last time, I gave it to the kind soul who not only picked me up on the Raleigh Beltline and took me to the convenience store on Morgan St. to get gas (saving me ~1 mile of walking) but also took me back to my car! He wouldn't take any money, but he gladly kept the container! I bought a replacement that night. I consider it standard safety equipment.lawgrad91 wrote:Love the S curves in my Audi, but those trees are capable of falling any time of the year.captmojo wrote:Could'a been worse, you know.
