Re: Hoping Mason Stays
What day do the guys have to declare interest in the NBA? April 10th, or end of April?

Re: Hoping Mason Stays
Mason doesn't have to declare until April 29th. If he declares now, he can pull his name out by the 10th and return to school. If he leaves his name in, or declares after the 10th, he cannot return.DevilWearsPrada2.0 wrote:What day do the guys have to declare interest in the NBA? April 10th, or end of April?

It appears MP II will be returning: Tweet from Jonathan Givony (DraftExpress):

Actually, scratch that on Mason Plumlee leaving. Just got a DM from someone very plugged in saying the opposite. He would know better.
This time of year is like As the World Turns for college basketball fans.

I don't think anyone knows except Mason. "Someone very plugged in" might be Givony's electrician, who like the rest of, doesn't have a clue.Bob Green wrote:It appears MP II will be returning: Tweet from Jonathan Givony (DraftExpress):

Mason's last tweet: "I'm excited about the chance to play for Duke one more season. Thanks for all the support, I'm blessed to be here!"

I think I'll stop what I'm doing and DRINK TO THAT! Sooooo happy to have this real student athlete still with us. We'll all be in your corner all year, Mason. Marshal must be really happy, too.
Once again, Duke will put another first class bunch on the floor and it will be led by exactly the kind of guy we are so proud of.
This is great.
Love, Ima

Think about this...next year we will have 4 seniors...Andre, Mason, Ryan and Seth. That's what I'm talking about...I love being able to follow A TEAM through 4 years of school. They may go far, they may fall flat, they may win it all; to me it doesn't matter quite as much as the fact that I got to invest in them as a fan and was paid back handsomely in emotional reward.Ima Facultiwyfe wrote:I think I'll stop what I'm doing and DRINK TO THAT! Ask me about how I feel about Kyrie and Austin in 5 years and I will answer with "who?". Ask me the same about any of these guys and I will be able to tell you I loved them or they drove me nuts (or both) and I'll be able to back myself up with lots of good stories.

Favorite statement from his press conference.
http://goduke.com/mediaPortal/player.dbml?id=870612I had a good feel for where our team here was headed, and I thought the direction of our team and where coach wants to go was more exciting and something I wanted to be a part of and I feel I have a lot left to accomplish here. This team will have a really good chance to be special next year.

I blame it all on his improvement at the free-throw line!

Good read from Adam Gould on Mason's importance next year.
http://www.wralsportsfan.com/voices/blogpost/10975387/Plumlee has to be a part of the Duke offense from start to finish next year. He can’t be a forgotten player for stretches.

A point guard who distributes and shoots well and plays good D who makes his teammates better in the process is another key next year. A huge key.CameronBornAndBred wrote:Good read from Adam Gould on Mason's importance next year.http://www.wralsportsfan.com/voices/blogpost/10975387/Plumlee has to be a part of the Duke offense from start to finish next year. You're saying we need another Bobby Hurley or Chris Duhon. I'm down with that.devildeac wrote:A point guard who distributes and shoots well and plays good D who makes his teammates better in the process is another key next year. Re: Hoping Mason Stays (Hoping may cease, he's staying!)
I'd be happy with a Jon Scheyer or Nolan Smith. Very happy. I think we are good next year if we get the same performances out of Cook or Thornton. Very good if QC's knees recover and he can keep the opposing PG in front of him. Same for Tyler. Hope someone works with him lots and lots or hours this summer on that jumper or he'll be ignored again like VT did in the 1st round ACCT game when he shot 3/13. Of course, our other guards not named Rivers weren't lighting it up either with a woeful 2/13 evening.
