Ruth was quiet most of the afternoon, then started screaming as if in pain. She did that for a good half hour. When she got quiet, I asked her if she wanted to go outside and swing (which she loves to do). The second time I asked she said yes, so we did. She laughed and smiled for 20 minutes, until I was told it was time to grill dinner (steaks and chicken breasts), and her dad played with her. When dinner was ready she didn't want to eat (no surprise), and she started crying again. They have put her to bed and I think she has fallen to sleep. Hope she wakes up in the morning "all better"!

When Sam was little, he had an ear infection that was so bad that his ear drum burst. Goo oozed out of his ear and on to the crib sheets. It was fairly disgusting, but after his ear drum popped, he stopped screaming because the pain had subsided.
