While there is some minor noise on my household lines caused by the multitudes of splitters and surge protectors I have on my cable lines in the house, the problem is upstream of my house, before the pole. The "from the pole to the house" guy has called in a service call to the "up the street on the lines somewhere" service tech to fix the problem. I lost channel 3, WRAL's regular non HD signal, on all my analog TV's last week before we left for Florida. Channels 2 and 4 are fine. I figured last Wednesday the problem was WRAL's, caused by the solar flare. Problem still existed when we got back Sunday night, so I called them Monday morning.
