being inundated with good vibes, Ima, from you and everyone else! Thanks.

He looks a bit better today, and in a positive sign, he fought the respiratory nurse when she wanted to put an oxygen mask on him! He's getting back some of his orneriness, which is a good thing. He's still NPO until they do a swallow study. They did want him to take some med in apple sauce, but the nurse couldn't get him to do it. He DID take it from my mom, and want more, so again, a sign of returning to normal! Baby steps. Hopefully the doctor will be by in the next hour or so.

A swallow study. I've been trying to get women to take one for 40 years... ;)

Gpa Devil has been sent home to complete his recovery - not sure it's the best plan but HMO & Medicare are tough to challenge. His pneumonia is improving daily, his poor old heart is working as well as possible even with his mechanical devices and the UTI is improving however he's home with a catheter for hopefully just a couple weeks. Long story and again am not sure I agree! It's tough to be a retired nurse and be 1500 miles away. We sure thank everyone for the wonderful vibes - they work!

ID, I didn't realize you were a retired nurse! I can imagine how hard that must be, to be that far away from your dad and his medical condition. Both my mom and mother-in-law are retired nurses. I could use them here to take care of my patient, or beat some sense into him.

IowaDevil Dad/Gpa must be getting better he's making jokes....he was complaining about having to go home with this catheter. Told him at least it was not a long-term thing. He replied...."at my age (92) two-weeks is a life-time!" He's on the road to health again! Thanks again for all the vibes!
