I want to sit there in the sand,
and watch those golden tans go walkin' by
I know it isn't fair, cause you might really care,
but it's different now that summertime's callin' me.
Two days in Durham (Tilly, I'll get in touch on the way back through) then off to SC on Sunday. Finally got in, at 10pm, traffic was terrible coming south today.
The time is out of joint, O cursed spite!

Home is where...the warm weather is?
BD, how could you leave foggy/overcast October weather in July for sun and fun in the sand?
As for me, I'm looking forward to the arrival of winter next week.

Me too. That's very much my plan for today. And tomorrow. Looks beautiful out there right now. We just had bacon, eggs, and pancakes for breakfast, and now a certain sandy spot is beginning to call my name.

Quote of the day: "Mom, there's this guy on the beach in a bathing suit, except that it doesn't look like a real bathing suit. It's kind of embarrassing."

Stupid lyric of the day: "I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free, and I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me."
where at least?

Dear Northeasterners,
The people of the Northwest thank you for "taking one for the team" this summer. We greatly appreciate your willingness to take on the burden of the Seattle summer, so that we can enjoy the "75 & sunny" forecast for a whole month sooner than normal.
In appreciation, we will offer you a free latte, would you like to come over and enjoy this weather with us.
Cheers,
--DA (and the populations of Seattle, Portland, and Vancouver.)

I love it when holidays fall on a weekend, so you can still get the paid day off when not everything is shut down. Today was a "me day" - pedicure, plus hair cut & highlights. Ooh la la! ;)

I'm with you there, but it seems more and more that you can do and buy anything on a holiday that you couldn't before. There are even 24-7 banks now. My hats off to the retail and service workers that carry the load.

You are welcome! Just call ahead to the local Starbucks(fewer than Dunkin Donuts but still quite a few around)and let them know I'll be down for my free drink shortly.

I figured, but wanted to alert the masses about it here. Going to read it now, congrats.
